We’ll keepyou posted. An important message from MedicareIn late June 2008, Medicare mailed many of youa packet of information about a new CompetitiveBidding Program that could affect the suppliers fromwhich you could receive your diabetes medicationand durable medical equipment. The Finance Officeran a subsequent notice in News Notes warning thatanyone who used diabetes medication or durablemedical equipment should check to ensure hissupplier for these items was on the approved Medicare“contractor” list. Due to the reaction of the public,Congress has acted to delay the implementation of thisnew program.Because of this delay in program implementation, you can now continue to get your Medicare-coveredequipment and diabetes medication from anyMedicare-approved supplier (not just those on anapproved “contractor” list). If you changed yoursupplier when this new program started, you cancontinue to use the new supplier or choose anothersupplier. Either way, it’s always a good idea to askwhether your medication or supplies will be paid forby Medicare. If you have any questions, you can talkto your doctor, your supplier, call Medicare (1-800-633-4227), or feel free to contact the Finance Officeat 513-721-4700 x. 3211, and we will assist you. Thankyou!— David O’Brien, CFO
