Information Evening
There is an information evening at 20 Ball
Road, Pewsey on Saturday 19 th March, 5-7pm,
about the work of Christian Aid. They are a
great charity doing an outstanding job in
desperate situations. Working with people of
any or no faith, they channel their effort
through local partners, on the ground, where it
really matters. They really do make a
difference.
There will be a couple of short films showing
some of the work the charity does; how money
collected previously has been used and what
we can do this year. If you would like to come

Christian Aid Service
The 11am service at St John’s Church,
Pewsey, on 20 th March will focus on Christian
Aid. This charity has and continues to be
supported by people in the Vale of Pewsey.
Do come along to find out more about
how Christian Aid and its partners are working
to bring an end to poverty around the world -
tackling its root causes as well as its effects.

Happy Years’ School The
school we are funding in South
Sudan is going from strength to
strength enabling some of the
poorest children in the world to
start their education.. More children are
enrolling and the second year’s intake started
in February. This has meant that the existing
school building (a traditional tukul thatched
building) has become far too small and a new
concrete building is needed. We have sent half
of the money needed so that building can begin
but we urgently need to raise the rest. To this
end we will be holding a number of fundraising
events which we hope you will support. The
first of these is a Victorian Evening on 2nd April
in Alton Barnes.
Microfinance project
We have also increased our funding to the
micro-finance project which gives loans to
women to start their own small businesses.
The scheme has been extended to other
archdeaconries in Nzara Diocese. This has
been a real success story as these businesses
have helped families to pay for their children’s
education.
