Equine-Assisted Learning<br />

A three year pilot programme to provide equine<br />

therapy for 500 disadvantaged youth to gain<br />

confi dence and life skills through horse riding<br />

and caring for horses. The programme also<br />

offers a vocational pathway for youth interested<br />

in a career in handling horses.<br />

National University of Singapore (NUS)<br />

High School Tay Eng Soon Scholarship<br />

Three NUS High School students were awarded<br />

the inaugural NUS High School Tay Eng Soon<br />

Scholarships. The scholarship recognises<br />

outstanding students with great passion, talent<br />

and achievements in mathematics or science.<br />

Involving and Motivating Parents & Caregivers<br />

Through Training (IMPACTT)<br />

Launched in January 2011 by KK Women’s<br />

and Children’s Hospital to train parents how to<br />

better manage the behaviour of children with<br />

developmental needs.<br />

<strong>Temasek</strong> Cares enables parents of 1,600 children<br />

in Special Education schools, pre-schools and<br />

Early Intervention Programme for Infants and<br />

Children (EIPIC) and non-EIPIC centres to enrol<br />

in this training course.<br />

Crisis shelter services for abused women<br />

and children<br />

A two year partnership with Casa Raudha<br />

Women Home in Singapore to provide a<br />

temporary crisis shelter for 375 abused<br />

and homeless women and their children.<br />

Residents are provided with counselling to<br />

deal with emotional trauma, fi nancial support<br />

and advice on rights and options.<br />

<strong>Temasek</strong> Foundation<br />

Providing clean drinking water for families<br />

Partnered the Cambodian and Thai Red Cross<br />

Society to provide 3,000 water fi lter kits to<br />

families affected by severe fl oods in Cambodia<br />

and Thailand in late 2011.<br />
