Feedstock recycl<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Mixed plastic wastes can also be reduced by chemical means to their<br />

orig<strong>in</strong>al components which can then be re-used as raw materials. Thus,<br />

mixtures of different and even contam<strong>in</strong>ated plastics can also be processed.<br />

The result<strong>in</strong>g raw materials can then be used to manufacture<br />

new material to the same standard as if it were made from crude oil,<br />

while conserv<strong>in</strong>g fossil fuel.<br />

As a major plastics manufacturer, <strong>BASF</strong> has done pioneer<strong>in</strong>g work <strong>in</strong><br />

design<strong>in</strong>g recovery options for wastes conta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g plastics by develop<strong>in</strong>g<br />
