THE CLASSIC ROUNDALUMINUM COLUMNClassic Round Columns have beendesigned and manufactured to be easyon the eyes, and provide a lifetime ofstructural integrity.Note: To wrap an existing post, roundcolumns may be modified with splitcaps and bases.ASSEMBLYClassic Columns are straight, madein sections, each stave or sectionhaving a small and a large curvedhook, which interlocks to theadjoining section. Flange-typecaps and bases slip over thecolumns to complete the unit.STEP 1Measure opening, cut column staves1/8" longer.STEP 2Hook staves together, small hook joinslarge hook.STEP 3Hook all staves together except one,slide remaining stave into place.STEP 4Put cap and base on column, set inplace and plumb with a level. TRADITIONALSQUARE COLUMNSIf round is not the shape you arelooking for... any one of our threechoices of Square Columns willsatisfy the most discriminatingarchitect or home builder.ASSEMBLYSquare Column sections snaptogether. This should be done on asolid surface such as the floor ora table. The easiest method is toassemble the four section columnsinto two piece halves, then snaptogether. It is best to use a rubbermallet for this. Snap fromcenter of column out toward eachend of column.Step 3Install horizontal plate with twoscrews into two pre-drilled holes.If you have to cut down the column,drill two holes 3 1/2" from end ofcolumn. Snappre-finished cover over plate.Step 4Install cap and base over ends ofcolumn.
