The strength that binds all of uswith a purpose and which does not recognize divisions and classifications. We allstrive and play an important part not to make a difference but to contribute to thecourse of an empowered youth.University of Mumbai with all its affiliated Colleges and Institute intends toformalize and strengthen this course of the empowerment of Youth with thecollective efforts of the University administration, College Principals and staffmembers with students as part an epicenter of the entire process.It is been envisioned that this empowered youth assembles in the University on theYuva Diwas 12 th January, 2013 as on conclave to exhibit the first wave of thisempowerment.In this whole process it is essential that the University and Colleges join hands witheach other to till 12 th January, 2013 to channelise the synergies of the youth of theUniversity of Mumbai.The design of the programme shall be as follows1. To identify 50 colleges in Mumbai to participate in the programme2. Every college should create a group of 50 empowered student in the college. Thegroup should be formed of self motivated student leaders associated with NSS, NCC,Extension various associations, Cultural, Gandhian studies center. This group shallbe called “Empowered College Group”3. It is expected from the participating colleges that these students should undergovarious leadership training programmes till 10 th January 2013.4. All the 50 colleges in Mumbai are expected to pair with one college from thaneRural/tribal Raigad, Ratanagiri, Sindhudurg district.5. Therefore there will be 100 colleges (50 in Mumbai and 50 in districts) which willbe connected with each other through 50 empowered students’ leaders from eachcollege.

6. The colleges in Mumbai are expected to host the district college students in theircollege for a day on 11 th January2012. Accommodation and food be provided by thehost college and a joint leadership programme/ workshop be organised in the hostcollege. Transportation cost be borne by the district colleges themselves.7. A conclave of 5000 students comprising of 50 students each from 100participating colleges should assemble at the University sports Complex Kalina,Santacruz on at 08.30am 12 th January,2013, YUVA DIWAS where eminentspeakers will interact on topics mentioned below,a) “Education for Employment and Values”b) “Politics for service”c) “Media for community Empowerment”The first meeting of all the selected 50 colleges’ principals and representativesin Mumbai shall take place in 7 th December 2012 at Sir Phirozshah MehtaBhavan at 11.30amFirst meeting of teacher leaders and core group of 10 students of identified collegeswill be held on 10 th dec 2012 on the occasion of Human Rights Day.Meetings at district colleges will be held between 11 th and 25 th December 2012Colleges in Mumbai are requested to volunteer to host district collegesDr. Uttam Kendre Prof Atul Salunkhe Dr. DilipPatil Dr. Mrudul NileDir.
