SATURDAY, MARCH 5, <strong>2011</strong> — THE MAS-<br />

QUERADE DINNER and DANCE sponsored<br />

by the SLS. A favorite tradition with a Bratwurst<br />

dinner (and all the fixings), will be<br />

served between 5:30—7:30 p.m. ADVANCED<br />

TICKET SALES PREFERRED. Tickets are<br />

available at SLS meetings and cost $15.00 per person (12<br />

and under are free). Admission to the dance following dinner<br />

is $10.00 (free if you are fully masked). TO COMPETE FOR<br />

PRIZES ADULTS MUST BE FULLY MASKED AND IN THE<br />

HALL BEFORE THE GRAND MARCH, WHICH BEGINS<br />

SHARPLY AT 8:00 P.M.! A changing room is available.<br />

Everyone is encouraged to come in costume even if not competing.<br />

<strong>Swiss</strong> dancing will follow. (Ladies—Please get your<br />

prize procurement letters early. Procurement letters are<br />

available at every meeting. Call a board member if you<br />

p.m., sponsored by the SLS. Card playing will start<br />

promptly at 1:00 p.m. The entry fee is $6.00. Bring<br />

your friends and family for a fun afternoon of “Jass”, “pinochle, or<br />

poker. Bring your own games to share or there is always room at<br />

the Bunco Tables!<br />

CRAB FEED & DANCE: Friday, March 18, <strong>2011</strong>,<br />

6:30—8:30 p.m. & Saturday, March 19, <strong>2011</strong>,<br />

6:30—8:30 p.m., sponsored by the SSCT. This<br />

event has reserved seating and tickets will have table numbers<br />

assigned. Dancing follows with the Idol Eyez Band.<br />

EASTER EGG HUNT & HAM SHOOT:<br />

Sunday, April 17, <strong>2011</strong> sponsored jointly by<br />

SLS, SSCT, and TSS. Ham Shoot starts at<br />

10:00 a.m. Easter Egg Hunt at 2:00 p.m. Separate areas<br />

for various age groups. The Easter Bunny will be<br />

there!<br />

MANNERCHOR DINNER & CONCERT: Saturday, April 30,<br />

2009 (Dinner at 5:30 p.m. and Concert at 7:30 p.m.), sponsored<br />

by the SSCT. The Mannerchor and guest Enzian Ladies Choir<br />

(<strong>Tacoma</strong>) will perform. Dance to follow at 8:30 p.m. to the music<br />

of the <strong>Swiss</strong> Alpiners. Tickets $18.00 per person, children<br />

SPRING SCHWINGFEST: Saturday,<br />

June 18, <strong>2011</strong> sponsored by the<br />

SSCT. Cost is $5.00, including<br />

dance—No refunds. Children 12 and<br />

under are free. Gate opens at 10:00<br />

a.m. and Schwinger registration starts<br />

at 11:00 a.m., followed by competition beginning at noon for<br />

all wrestlers. Steinstossen competition follows. The kitchen<br />

and bar will open at 12:00 noon. The evening dance begins at<br />

7:30 p.m. to the John Faver Orchestra. The Award Ceremony<br />

for the Schwingers will begin about 10:30 p.m. The Kitchen<br />

will close at 10:00 p.m. and the Bar at 1:00 a.m.<br />

SSCT MEMBER’S SHOTGUN MEDAL SHOOT:<br />

Sunday, June 19, <strong>2011</strong>, at 10:00 a.m. sponsored<br />

by the SSCT. You must be a SSCT, or associated<br />

<strong>Swiss</strong> <strong>Club</strong> Member, to compete for a<br />

medal. There is no fee to come into the park.<br />

FIRST OF AUGUST “BUNDESFEIER”:<br />

Sunday, July 31, 2009, 2:00 p.m., <strong>Swiss</strong> Park,<br />

Bonney Lake. Sponsored by the SSCT, SLS,<br />

and TSS. Come celebrate the <strong>Swiss</strong> Independence<br />

with a wonderful afternoon. The <strong>Swiss</strong> Kids<br />

Kamp will present a great stage show that will remind<br />

you of days past and there are different relay games on<br />

the front lawn for young and old to enjoy.<br />

ATTENTION: TACOMA SWISS SOCIETY SCHOLAR-<br />

SHIP PROGRAM. <strong>Swiss</strong> fathers who have students<br />

interested in attending college, and could apply for a<br />

scholarship in the future, need to consider joining the<br />

<strong>Tacoma</strong> <strong>Swiss</strong> Society, as membership is a prerequisite<br />

to submit an application for a scholarship. Anyone interested<br />

in joining the <strong>Tacoma</strong> <strong>Swiss</strong> Society can obtain<br />

more information or an application by contacting any<br />

13th KIDS SWISS KAMP:<br />

Wednesday through Sunday,<br />

July 27—31, <strong>2011</strong>. For children<br />

ages 8 to 14 inclusive.<br />

The purpose of the Kamp is<br />

to teach our young people<br />

the culture and traditions of Switzerland and learn<br />

about their ethnic heritage. Our Kamp begins<br />

Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. (Please feed your child<br />

dinner on Wednesday, July 28th). Your child will be<br />

staying overnight with us, Thursday, Friday and Saturday<br />

nights. Classes will be held all day Thursday, Friday,<br />

Saturday and Sunday morning. On Sunday at<br />

about 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon we will have a special<br />

parade and program to celebrate “SWISS INDE-<br />

PENDENCE”. Your child will be participating and producing<br />

this celebration and we invite you to bring the<br />

whole family out for this wonderful afternoon. The<br />

SLS will have the kitchen open with hamburgers and<br />

hotdogs and other good things to eat. There will be<br />

games to play for both adults and children following<br />

the parade and program. PLEASE ENCOURAGE<br />

THE CHILDREN IN THEIR LEARNING AND BRING<br />

YOUR FAMILY FOR AN AFTERNOON FULL OF<br />

SWISS ENTERTAINMENT, FOOD AND FUN. During<br />

Kamp your child will be introduced to <strong>Swiss</strong> History,<br />

theater, <strong>Swiss</strong> language, music, instruments,<br />

wood working, sports, flag throwing, handiwork, painting,<br />

<strong>Swiss</strong> games, dancing as well as baking, cooking<br />

and eating <strong>Swiss</strong> foods! Breakfast, lunch and dinner<br />

will be provided Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and<br />

breakfast and lunch will be provided on Sunday.<br />

Space for your child will be by reservation only,<br />

please complete the reservation form found on page 4<br />

of this flyer. The maximum number of children able to<br />

participate is 60. The total cost per child will be<br />

$25.00. We will supply all of your child’s entertainment<br />

needs! We will provide an adult for every five<br />

children and a trained staff will be available to assist<br />

with medical needs. If you would like to help—please<br />

call the Joe or Louise Hospenthal at 253-896-2593.<br />

Your child will need to bring the following items only:<br />

�Sleeping bag, pillow and foam or air mattress<br />

�Towel and personal hygiene items (toothbrush,<br />

toothpaste, comb, etc., absolutely NO hairdryers or<br />

curling irons!).<br />

�Underwear and socks for four days, and pajamas<br />

�Jeans and shorts<br />

�Long and short sleeved shirts<br />

�Sweatshirt and jacket<br />

�Tennis shoes, flip-flops or sandals<br />
