the race. Included in this total was one United Kingdom and one Irish pigeon. These owners would allget a US$1,000 refund as their pigeon/s were not actually entered for the race. For the third time wealso had two Inspectors and a Veterinary Surgeon in attendance from the National Society for thePrevention of Cruelty to Animals and they seemed to be very happy with the way the race basketingwent and they caused no problems during the actual race marking. It was also a great pleasure to see that all bar 2 of the 37 countries that originally entered pigeons stillhad pigeons left in the race, which in itself is a remarkable achievement and these were made up asfollows:- INTERNATIONAL ENTRIES totalled a record breaking 2,947 and the host country SOUTHAFRICA had 532 entries and this is a breakdown of actual original entries per country and in bracketswhat was actually sent to the Final Race AUSTRALIA 226, AUSTRIA 35, BAHRAIN 6, BELGIUM 245,CANADA 39, CHINA 3, CZECH REPUBLIC 89, DENMARK 106, FRANCE 4, GERMANY 812, HUNGARY 18,IRELAND 33, ITALY 22, KUWAIT 144, MALTA 8, NETHERLANDS 181, POLAND 98, PORTUGAL 2,PUERTO RICO 2, QATAR 11, REPUBLIC OF KOREA 10, ROMANIA 41, SAUDI ARABIA 10, SLOVAKIA 40,SLOVENIA 10, SOUTH AFRICA 532, SWAZILAND 1, SWEDEN 8, SWITZERLAND 14, TANZANIA 1,TURKEY 4, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES 2, UNITED KINGDOM 265, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 451and ZIMBABWE 6. Once again it was great to see quite a few new countries competing for the firsttime but as usual it was also a great shame to see quite a few countries not being able to enter becauseof Avian Influenza restrictions imposed by their governments or ministries. Hopefully, things willimprove for the 2013 SCMDPR. It should also be mentioned that for the first ten years the actual racedistance had been from 632km (393 miles) but the Race Organisers and Race Committee decided a fewyears ago to reduce the race distance to give more pigeons a chance to make it back to the lofts onthe day of liberation and that has been generally accepted by pigeon fanciers all over the world as avery positive move. After the basketing had been completed in record time and the pigeons were fed and watered, theywere then loaded onto the transported in the Superbowl so they would be ready for their early starttowards the race point early on Friday morning. The transported was sealed with special numberedseals and were then left to have a rest in the Superbowl guarded by special security guards fromFalcon Security. We then all departed, the lights were switched off and the pigeons could rest andthink about the task that was in front of them. It was then back to the Vista Bar in the Cascades Hotelwhich was buzzing and everybody was talking about the race and what they thought their chanceswere, after some considerable time and a few drinks everybody said their goodbyes and made their wayto bed in the early hours of the morning.Friday soon dawned and was a day for me of meeting people, meetings and setting up the SCMDPRTrade Stand and after a few hectic hours and meeting scores of old friends it was soon time to getready for The Welcome Reception which was to be held in the spectacular Hall Of Treasures inEntertainment Centre, which started at 20-00 and which as usual had a fantastic buffet waiting foreverybody to enjoy, the presentation of the food was as usual outstanding to say the least and onceagain Sun International did us proud, just like they have done in past years and as usual this was acasual function and was attended by about 500 fanciers. Zandy Meyer (Race Director) then toldeverybody present about the weather forecast for the Saturday plus he informed everybody inattendance that the pigeons would be liberated near Petrusville which was about 578 km (359 miles)back to Sun City. He wished everybody good luck and that it looked good for a great race and hethought it would be a fairly tough event and in his speech he also welcomed everybody to Sun Cityand told us all that Sun International were once again very proud to be hosting the 16th Sun CityMillion Dollar Pigeon Race and once again wished everybody good luck for the race tomorrow and saidhe looked forward to congratulating the 2012 SCMDPR winner tomorrow evening and hoped he wouldbe seeing us all again next year. All the Country Race Shippers that were present were then called tothe stage and presented with a gift from ASI for their efforts throughout the year, plus all the sponsorswere called up and presented with a framed diploma for their support in the race. Zandy Meyer andJoan-e Holt then handed over all the awards and each person that was present then was called up tothe stage and were all greeted with great applause. The function finally finished about 22-30 andpeople made their way back to the various bars to round off their day and once again the Vista Bar waspacked to the hilt with pigeon fanciers and friends all hoping that tomorrow was going to be theirspecial day. As the International Race Co-ordinator and one of the Official Shippers, I would like topersonally thank all the Country and Regional Race Shippers for all their hard work and efforts overthe years because without your help and assistance the race would never have got off the ground andwould not be the fantastic success it is today. Everybody I spoke to about this function thought it wasoutstanding in every way, so let us hope the weather is good enough again next year to have thisevent in such fabulous surroundings.

epresented in the top 10 and a total of 13 different countries represented in the top 50, which justgoes to show that it really was a truly international race result. As there was a total of 300 cash prizes on offer in this race that meant that pigeons from 51st rightthrough to 300th OPEN would still win a good cash prize for making it home and a grand total ofUS$225,000 (approx. £150,000) was still to be won with 51st to 75th positions would all win US$2,000(approx. £1,334 each), 76th to 100th OPEN positions would all win US$1,500 (approx. £1,000 each),101st to 150th OPEN positions would all win US$1,250 (approx. £834 each), 151st to 250th OPENpositions would all win US$1,000 (approx. £667 each), plus 251st to 300th OPEN positions would all winUS$500 (approx. £334 each), plus numerous other pools and nominations and I would just love to printthe whole race result but of course space and time does not permit to publish all the gallant pigeonsthat were officially clocked, however if you want to see the full race result then please just log ontowww.scmdpr.com and you can view every pigeon that was officially clocked in during this race. Anotheramazing fact was that from the 37 different countries that originally entered pigeons into the race onlya few actually failed to get a pigeon in the top 300 cash prizes and most of these were countries withvery small entries. All the 300 cash prizes were taken by 19-04 and a total of 381 pigeons had beenofficially clocked by 21-52 on the day. When Sunday morning dawned the first pigeon clocked was an Belgium pigeon at 05-31-10 and thepigeons just fell out of the sky for most of the day and by 19-18 on Sunday evening a total of over2,017 pigeons had actually been officially clocked, plus numerous Non-Activated pigeons. By nightfallon Monday a grand total of over 2,180 pigeons had been officially clocked and the general conditionwas excellent. Over the next few days quite a few more pigeons returned to the lofts in Sun City andbefore I left South Africa a total of 2,415 pigeons had been officially clocked. This total was made up2,075 International pigeons, which included 184 United Kingdom and 28 Irish pigeons, plus 340 SouthAfrican pigeons clocked. Quite a few more pigeons will of course home during the next few weekswhich should take the total to just over 2,500 pigeons, which for a one loft race is an excellent result. As usual the loft staff will leave the Unikon Clocking System on and this will still record late arrivals.Of course numerous more updates will be available for all to see on the SCMDPR web site. Anybodywanting to study the Race Result in more depth can log onto www.scmdpr.com and hit the “RESULTS& LISTINGS” section and get all the information they require. One thing that I find quite amazing isthat from the 166 pigeons that were Not-Activated prior to the race, a total of 130 of these had madeit back to the lofts which is a 78.313% return rate. Of the Activated pigeons the return rate workedout at just over 67% of those sent to the race. Both these figures show the quality of the pigeonsentered and I do not know of any other one loft race in the world that can proudly quote such a highreturn rate. WELL DONE TO THE RACE ORGANISERS FOR GIVING PIGEON FANCIERS ALL OVER THEWORLD A RACE IN WHICH ALL PIGEONS HAD AN EQUAL CHANCE TO MAKE IT BACK TO THE LOFTSIN SUN CITY. IT JUST GOES TO PROVE ONCE AGAIN THAT IF THE PIGEONS ARE GIVEN THE PROPERTRAINING THEY WILL DO THEIR LEVEL BEST TO MAKE IT BACK TO BASE CAMP WHICH OF COURSEIS THEIR HOME.The team of auditors from E. COETZEE & KIE led by JAKKIE VAN NIEKERK are present at the lofts tomake sure everything is done correctly and then after the pigeons have homed and had time to of hadsome food and of course a drink, the loft staff then catch them and basket them and then they arebrought to the auditors to check the ring numbers but before this can be done the sticky plastic ringcover that is put on at the race marking to hide the identity of the country ring is removed so thatthey can read the ring number and confirm with the database this pigeon actually was basketed andcompeted in the Final Race plus of course they also make sure they are all carrying the auditors wingstamp that was put on when they were basketed in the Superbowl. At the same time this checking isbeing done the first 100 pigeons home have a new plastic numbered (1 to 100) ring put on their leg tostate which position each pigeon had taken in the Final Race. This of course also helps early onSunday morning when the pigeons have to be basketed again for the auction, all that happens then isyou just look at the number on the plastic ring and that shows which auction pen it has to be put into, which of course saves a lot of valuable time. The auditors have to stay at the lofts until dark as everypigeon that make it home in the top 300 has to be checked against the database before any prizemoney is actually handed over to fanciers or entrants. Also CORNAY SMIT (ATTORNEY) places the firstthree pigeons home in the race in show pens with a paper base and early the next morning thedroppings from each of these pigeons is collected and put into special glass files and then sent off fordope testing. ALL THIS IS DONE, SO THAT FANCIERS/COMPETITORS and ENTRANTS know thateverything is above board with all aspects of this great race. WELL DONE LADS, YOU REALLY DO AGREAT JOB.

It was now time to attend the PRIZE PRESENTATION & DINNER in The Royal Ballroom at 20-00 and asI entered the room it looked stunning with a wonderful buffet set up on two sides. As soon as peoplewere sitting down at their tables Zandy Meyer (Race Director) gave a short speech about the verytough race and stated that 381 pigeons had been officially clocked and he was sure many more wouldwork back during Sunday and the next few days. It was now time to present the prizes and as ZandyMeyer read out the prize winners name the appropriate award was handed over by Joan-e Holt and thewinners started to arrive at the stage to collect their awards. Starting off at tenth prize and workingdown to the actual race winner, all as listed above in the race result and all were applauded to thestage to get their awards, trophies and Gold Medals. However, as we all know there is only one winner and today this was the TEAM RUHR - SCHINK fromGERMANY with their great pigeon named RUBELLOS and owned and entered by this partnership werethen called to the stage to collect the coveted Winners Jacket, Winners Trophy, Gold Medal and amassive cheque for US$200,000 (approx. £133,334), amidst tremendous applause. Unfortunately, these fanciers were not present so WILLI VAN BEERS the GERMAN RACE SHIPPER was called to thestage to collect all the prizes this great pigeon had won. Many fanciers were congratulating the all thewinners as they returned to their tables, which is usual in an International Pigeon Race of thisstanding. Numerous other awards were also handed out to Joan-e Holt, Marion Branford, Andre vanWyk, Dave van der Merve, Corrie Naude, Michael Holt and Peiter Saayman for all their hard work andefforts throughout the 2011/12 race series. Also all the other Loft Staff were personally thanked forall their efforts throughout the year. Then Paul Smith who is the United Kingdom Race Team Shipper& International Race Co-ordinator was called to the stage and asked to present a “Special Award” toZandy Meyer (Race Director) for all his hard work and effort he had put into this race since day one. This award was also greeted by tremendous applause. Then as soon as the presentation was finishedthe dancing started to a wonderful girl group and continued until midnight. Itreally is a wonderful setting for such a prestigious event such as this. All the staff at the Sun Citycomplex always seem to go out of their way to make sure we all have a great time and I for one, amlooking forward to seeing them all again next year. ONCE AGAIN A SPECIAL THANK YOU must also goto AIR SPORT INTERNATIONALE who are The Presenters of this race, as without their support overthe last fourteen years this race would never of been able to add these accolades to their advertising, brochures and web site, “THE GREATEST PIGEON RACE IN THE WORLD TODAY” and “THE RACEWITH THE PROVEN TRACK RECORD” and “MORE THAN 400 DIFFERENT WAYS TO BE A WINNER”.This has only been achieved by all the hard work and effort by all the staff employed by this great raceand ASI, plus of course all the Country Shippers that do such a wonderful job in getting all the pigeonsto Sun City for the race. However, without the support of all the race entrants over the past sixteen years and all the fanciersand friends that travel out to Sun City for the race, this pigeon race would never of become what it istoday and that is without doubt “THE BEST PIGEON RACE IN THE WORLD TODAY”, so a BIG THANKYOU for your race entries and for those of you that have also deciding to travel out to South Africa towatch and be part of this great race. Once again it was great to see nearly 100 United Kingdom and Irishfanciers taking a well earned break in the sun to travel out to watch a be part of this great internationalrace, they once again they represented their countries in a great manner. I look forward to seeing youall again next year when perhaps one or more fanciers from these two countries can once again winsome major cash prizes during the 2012/13 race series. YOUR SUPPORT WAS GREATLY APPRECIATED.*****ANOTHER FIRST FOR THE SCMDPR***** For the first time ever for the 2010/11 SCMDPR an onlineauction facility had been set up on the SCMDPR Web Site www.scmdpr.com which would allow fanciersfrom literally all over the world to place “BIDS” online. This of course should help the eventual saleprice of all of the pigeons that have returned from the race. Anybody wishing to place “BIDS” onlinemust first register with the Administration Office in South Africa, once this has been done and agreed, you can then log onto any of the 51 auctions and place your “BIDS”. The first 100 pigeons were all soldin the Superbowl and then there are a further 50 auction sales all over South Africa with 45 pigeons ineach. All the conditions are listed on the SCMDPR Web Site for all to see, so if you are genuinelyinterested, please get in touch as soon as possible.*****THE AUCTION OF THE TOP 100 PIGEONS*****As usual the first 100 pigeons were auctioned on Sunday morning and this year they were auctioned byJOHAN VEN DER NEST and his team from SOUTH AFRICA in the Superbowl at 09-00 and ALANJORDAAN from SOUTH AFRICA read out the conditions of the sale and then told fanciers that pigeonscould now be exported from South Africa and that if anybody wished to bid for a pigeon or pigeons theSCMDPR loft staff would arrange for the export to take place once all the auctions has finished. PAUL

SMITH from UNITED KINGDOM and AUGUST DAELEMANS from BELGIUM once again assisted theauctioneers during this fantastic auction. The audience in the Superbowl were once again determined tobuy the best and this was showed by the prices they were bidding. The auction was a resounding successwith pigeons fetching record prices and these 100 pigeons raised a staggering total of ZAR2.1 MillionSouth African Rand (approx. £175,000 Pounds Sterling), an average of around £1,750 per pigeon. This just goes to show fanciers all over the world the interest there is in purchasing pigeons thatcompete in this great race. Just to give you an example of what the top pigeons made this year, I willnow list a few:- The winning pigeon RUBELLOS that won 1st OPEN in the 16th SCMDPR and owned andentered by TEAM RUHR - SCHINK from GERMANY fetched a staggering R250,000 (approx. £20,834).Then the pigeon SYLT ORPHEUS that won 2nd OPEN owned by TEAM SYLT 2000 - GOEBEL-VARNEYfrom GERMANY fetched a staggering R360,000 (approx. £30,000), both the 1st and 2nd OPEN WINNERSwere purchased by MARK KITCHENBRAND from SOUTH AFRICA and these two pigeons would join manyof the past SCMDPR winners at stud that he has purchased over the past few years, 3rd OPEN waspigeon named LUKE DONALD and entered by RUEDIGER SCHOENAU from GERMANY fetched R35,000(approx. £2,917), 4th Open fetched R20,000 (£1,667), 5th Open fetched R12,000 (£1,000), 6th Openfetched R25,000 (£2,084), 7th Open fetched R28,000 (£2,334), 8th Open fetched R18,000 (£1,500), 9thOpen fetched R15,000 (£1,250) and 10th Open fetched R12,000 (£1,000). Many more pigeons fetchedbetween R20,000 (£1,667) and R45,000 (£3,750) each. The 36th Open was the KNOCKOUT WINNER andthat sold for R90,000 (£7,500), then 59th Open was an outstanding winning pigeon named SUGARSHACK that had previously won 63rd, 69th, 62nd, 29th and 167th in the 5 x CAR RACE HOT SPOTS andthen 59th OPEN in THE FINAL RACE that sold for a staggering R290,000 (£24,167) and then 80th Openwas the SUN CITY OVERALL ACE PIGEON sold for R55,000 (£4,584). The auction finished at 13-00 andthanks must go to JOHAN VAN DER NEST and his other two staff for conducting this great sale. A bigthank you must also go to AUGUST DAELEMANS from BELGIUM and PAUL SMITH from UNITEDKINGDOM for their help and assistance during this fantastic auction. This once again just goes to showthat if you are lucky enough to get a top class pigeon in the prestigious race you are looking at itfetching a small fortune and that can only be good news for all concerned because the breeder gets 50%of this sum after expenses have been deducted. WHAT A GREAT EXTRA REWARD IF YOUR PIGEONPERFORMS WELL DURING THE SCMDPR SERIES. ZANDY MEYER (Race Director) then thanked theauctioneer and assistants plus everybody concerned for their “BIDS” and wished everybody a safejourney home and looked forward to seeing everybody again next year. The later auction sales around South Africa have once again attracted some big prices, probably due tothe new online bidding service that started last year and it was great to see that after pigeons hadbattled to get home in a really tough race made good prices. There were 50 further auctions all aroundSouth Africa and they averaged about 45 pigeons per auction which started on Saturday 18th February2012 and which should be good news for the owners. Many of these gallant pigeons fetched top priceswith lots making over R10,000 (approx. £834) each. However, as usual quite a few made betweenR10,000 and R20,000 (approx. £834 to £1,668) each. A few made between R20,000 and R30,000 (£1,668to £2,500) each. As I finish off this report 11 of the auctions have already taken place, which leavesplenty more to complete the sale of all the pigeons that returned. Many pigeons were still making bigmoney with one making R16,200 (approx. £1,350), another making R19,000 (approx. £1,584) but theone that has amazed everybody was sold at Edenvale and this was PLUTOLOGY and raced under theManchester Maestros and bred by Crehan & O’Connor from Manchester, which sold for a staggeringR170,000 (approx. £14,167). Well done guys, you certainly deserve this as this pigeon actually finished12 times in the top 100 and won numerous lots of Nomination Money and Car Race Hot Spot CashPrizes and must rate as one of the best pigeons ever to fly in the SCMDPR series over the past 16 years. The Cape Town auction also fetched big sums with HEINZ V selling for R44,000 (approx. £3,667),SORINA selling for R16,500 (approx. £1,375) and last but not least SPANISH IDENTITY, sold for R21,000(approx. £1,750) who is the nestmate to PLUTOLOGY which is mention above. WHAT A FANTASTIC PAIROF NESTMATES THESE TWO TURNED OUT TO BE. WELL DONE GUYS.It just goes to show the world wide demand for the pigeons that complete this international race. This isalso great news for the breeders of these pigeons, as they get 50% of the auction figures after expenseshave been deducted. So if you pigeon/s complete the Final Race, you have an extra cash bonus comingyour way.*****SPECIAL NOTIFICATION***** Now the remaining 2,350 plus pigeons that have returnedfrom the race have to be sold all over South Africa and that in itself is another massive task and over50 different venues all over South Africa have already been selected and are available for all to see onour dedicated web site:- www.scmdpr.com if you want to see where your pigeon/s are being sold then

Every year from day one our “HITS” onthe web site have increased and the 2005/6 series was no exception and the organisers are very proudto announce that we had over 14.047 MILLION “HITS” (14047261) and 173386 visits, plus during the2005/6 race series, in fact the average time fanciers spent on this web site every time they logged onwas 21 minutes. Just to show the interest this race and web site have, the 2004/5 race attracted 9.8MILLION “HITS”, 2003/4 had 5 MILLION and the 2002/3 had 3 MILLION. The organisers believe inkeeping fanciers/entrants up to date with the progress of the pigeons in the lofts and pigeon fanciersthe world over love to go through all this information. It was announced that up to December 2006 theweb site had 168,364 unique visitors and because of a change over of server the January and February2007 figures are not yet to hand but I can tell you that in just 5 days from Sunday 18th February toThursday 22nd February 2007 the web site had 31,500 visitors and over 2.5 million “HITS”. This justgoes to prove to every fancier all over the world the interest there is in this great race. The 14 millions“HITS” for the 2005/6 race was easily exceeded for the 2006/7 race and this figure went up to around18 million “HITS”. Once again this outstanding web site during the 2007/8 race series rose to astaggering 20 million “HITS” plus, over the whole race series and just to show fanciers all over the worldthe interest this race does create, the figures for November 2007 were over 1.53 million “HITS”,followed by 2.22 “HITS” during December 2007 and over 35,500 visitors and well over 2.55 Million“HITS” in January 2008, with the actual race day attracting a total of 26,031 visitors and just short of 2million “HITS”. Records are broken year after year as you can see. The month of February 2008 figuresare not finalised at the time of going to press but I can tell you all that the figures for the first few daysof this month, just after the 2008 race finished were looking great with nearly 31,000 visitors and astaggering 2.50 Million “HITS”. The “HITS” figures for the 2008/9 race series exceeds 25 million overthe year and it was interesting to see that on the actual 2009 race day the web site had over 60,000

visitors, more than double the figure for the January 2009 race day, which equates to approximately4.80 million “HITS”. The structure of the web site for the 2010 Final Race day differs now slightly tothe last few years and it showed that there was 14,235 visits on the actual race day, with 318,436 pagesreviewed and a staggering 2,555790 which equates to nearly 2.556 Million “HITS”, which once againbroke the 2009 race record. I can now proudly reveal to the world that the SCMDPR Web Site actuallyhad over 47 MILLION “HITS” during the 2009/10 race series. The three biggest months were Novemberwhich saw 8.23 million “HITS”, then December had 4.23 million “HITS” and the biggest month of theyear was January with a staggering 16.4 million “HITS”, which actually equate to 104,089 visitorsduring the month. The official figures for February 2010 are now to hand and this showed 6.72 million“HITS”. THESE FIGURES JUST SHOW YOU THE POWER OF THE INTERNET! WHAT FIGURES WILLCOME OUT OF THE 2010/11 RACE SERIES? ONE THING IS FOR SURE, IF YOU WANT INFORMATIONABOUT YOUR PIGEONS ONCE THEY ARE IN THE LOFTS, THEN NO ONE LOFT RACE IN THE WORLDWILL GIVE YOU THE SORT OF INFORMATION THE SUN CITY MILLION DOLLAR PIGEON RACE GIVE TOITS ENTRANTS AND ALSO TO PIGEON FANCIERS THE WORLD OVER. EVERY YEAR WE INTRODUCEDIFFERENT TYPES OF INFORMATION TO GET EVERYBODY UP TOO DATE WITH WHAT IS HAPPENINGIN SUN CITY, SOUTH AFRICA. JUST LOG ONTO:- www.scmdpr.com AND HAVE A LOOK FOR YOURSELF,YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER AND MORE INFORMATIVE STATE OF THE ART ONE LOFT WEB SITE INTHE WORLD TODAY. I can now proudly reveal that the record breaking “HITS” figures for the 2009/10race series has been broken once again and for the 2010/11 race series now exceeds over 50 MILLION“HITS”. We changed servers during the 2010/11 race series and I now have the new figures from thelast 3 months and they are as follows:- from 15th December to 31st December 2010 we had just over4.25 MILLION “HITS”, followed by January 2011 a staggering 17.842 MILLION “HITS” and from 1stFebruary to 16th February 2011 another 2.865 MILLION “HITS”. So in the two months from the 15thDecember 2010 to 16th February 2011 the SCMDPR Web Site had over 20.707 MILLION “HITS” whichactually equated to 111,250 visits by 51,362 visitors. The actual race day had 4.105 MILLION “HITS”and the day after had 3.276 MILLION “HITS” and the Monday had 1.246 MILLION “HITS”. I AM SURETHAT THESE FIGURES MIGHT ASTOUND YOU BUT IT JUST GOES TO SHOW THE VALUE OF KEEPINGFANCIERS INFORMED. Once again I am fairly positive that these figures will improve yet again duringthe 2011/12 race series. For the 2011/12 race series we once again had a new server and they handletheir site figures slightly different to others in the past. However, we have some figures from them from1st November 2011 to 31st January 2012 and this shows a total of 51,161 people visited this web site, with 341,340 visits, 51,161 unique visitors, with 4,687,072 page viewings, 294,482 visits with a returnrate of 86.27%, with 46,858 visits which are classed 13.73% for new visitors. The overall result for“HITS” over the actual race year will probably exceed 60 MILLION “HITS” and probably many more ifthe truth was known. THIS JUST SHOWS THE WORLD THE INTEREST IN THIS GREAT RACE.***** SHIPPING DATES***** This is now the time to start planning your pairings for the 2013 SCMDPRand my first shipping date has now confirmed as MONDAY 14th MAY 2012. It really is the true “OLYMPICS OFPIGEON RACING” and over the past sixteen years we have had many different countries entering this

great International Race. It is great to see some new countries coming onboard and entering each yearbut if we are going to really call it the “OLYMPIC EVENT” we would love to have as many countriesactually entering that take part in the “OLYMPIC GAMES”, then we really could then call the winningpigeon the “OLYMPIC AND WORLD CHAMPION”. So if you or anybody in your country would like toparticipate then please get in touch with me by email on reglofts@aol.com or log onto my REGENCYLOFTS Web Site at www.regencylofts.com or the SCMDPR Web Site www.scmdpr.com for moreinformation, we will be only too pleased to try to sort out export permits and shipping from yourcountry. SOUTH AFRICA did it in 1999, thenGERMANY did it twice in 2004 and 2007 and then the UNITED KINGDOM achieved this remarkable featby doing it the 2009 SCMDPR. In the 16th SCMDPR 2012 the GERMAN TEAM achieved a remarkableresult by winning 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Open. The UNITED KINGDOM TEAM also won 3rd & 5th in the2011 race. Only six different countries have won this prestigious race since it started sixteen years agoand they are the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, SOUTH AFRICA, GERMANY, BELGIUM, UNITEDKINGDOM and the CZECH REPUBLIC. ANOTHER FIRST FOR THE SCMDPR. WELL DONE TO “BEN THEBLOGGER”.Whilst I was in South Africa and since I have returned home my telephone has hardly stopped ringingwith fanciers from literally all over the country and from abroad requesting information on how theycan enter the 2013 SCMDPR. It just goes to show how much this great race means to pigeon fanciers allover the world and to actually win it can change your life in more ways than one. One thing is for sure,if you do not enter it, then you certainly can’t win it. IF YOU WOULD LIKE ANY INFORMATION, CALLME TODAY ON 01279-812005 or 07860-568216 or SMS or email me on reglofts@aol.comThis International Press Release has taken me a great deal of time to compile since I returned from mythree weeks in South Africa but I thought it better not to try to rush it as I wanted to give all the creditto the fanciers that bred the pigeons and make sure the information I was giving was correct to the bestof my knowledge and I hope you all agree it was worth waiting for?

I would once again like to personally thank Peter Morey from South Africa for the fabulous photographshe supplied me with for use in this International Press Release. This is the fourth year running he hasassisted me and once again the quality of his work is really top class as I am sure you will all agree.Anybody wanting to log onto his web site www.petermoreyphotographic.co.za can do so and see all theother excellent work he does.Once again I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in South Africa, the hospitality of the South African people issecond to none and I strongly recommend that if you have never visited this continent then youconsider entering this 17th SCMDPR and at the same time treat yourself to a “TRIP OF A LIFETIME”. Ican certainly guarantee you will never regret it.Many fanciers always seem to ask me and others why the German pigeons do so well in Sun City and yeswhilst they do have exceptional pigeons, they also send the biggest team by a considerable number. Justtake the Final Race this year they had 812 pigeons which were representing the Germany Team, theUnited Kingdom Team had just 265 which is just under a third of the German race entry. Over the pastfew years the United Kingdom Team has greatly increased its race entry and if we are going to keep ourstrong international challenge, then we must try to get more pigeons entered so that we end up with alarger and stronger entry in the Final Race. Two of our biggest race entries has resulted in the UnitedKingdom Team winning 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th & 11th and lots more high positions in the Final Race overthe past four races, which really is a great result when compared with others. Just study the entryfigures stated above in the International Press Release and you will see that also South Africa (532) andUnited States Of America (451) also had big entries in the Final Race and both these countries did well.ANY SUPPORT YOU CAN GIVE THE UNITED KINGDOM TEAM WILL I ASSURE YOU, BE REALLY GREATLYAPPRECIATED.As I close this report so it can be sent off to the world press, I can now reveal that a total of 2,426pigeons have now returned to the lofts and this includes 2,085 International, which actually has 184United Kingdom and 28 Irish, plus 341 South African pigeons home. Of course quite a few more willhopefully work back to the lofts over the next few weeks. This is a 69.73% return rate which is anexceptionally high return rate for any International one loft race and something that the organisersshould be very proud of. It should also be mentioned that the five Car Race Hot Spots had an overallreturn rate of 95.40% during the 2011/12 race series, which is remarkable figure for races of thisdistance. WELL DONE TO ALL CONCERNED.I look forward to receiving your “BOOKING FORMS” over the next few weeks which will just confirmhow many pigeons you wish to enter into the 17th SCMDPR and hope that once again the UnitedKingdom Race Team can break their entry record that we achieved in the 16th SCMDPR. Of course yourhelp in this matter will be greatly appreciated as it will then give me the chance to make sure I haveenough new shipping baskets to transport the United Kingdom Race Team out to South Africa. If youjust want to call me on my home telephone number 01279-812005 instead of forwarding me the actual“BOOKING FORM” that will be OK by me.
