INTERNATIONAL PRESS RELEASETHE 17th SOUTH AFRICAN MILLION DOLLAR PIGEON RACERESULTS FOR CAR RACE HOT SPOT 4 & TRAINING FLIGHTS 12 & 13.CAR RACE HOT SPOT 4 took place on Saturday 29 th December 2012 from 303km (188miles) and the basketing list on the official web site showed a total of 3,299 pigeons werebasketed and this total was made up by 2,946 International, which included 303 UnitedKingdom and 44 Irish pigeons plus 353 from South Africa.The convoy were liberated at 05.20 in fine and clear conditions, little to no wind, withtemperature of 19c (66f) and a good <strong>race</strong> was expected. The temperature was due to riseup to 32c (92f) as the day progressed. This <strong>race</strong> turned out to be one of the strangest HOTSPOT RACES in the 17 years history of the <strong>race</strong> and one can only assume that the pigeonsmust have hit a storm somewhere on their way home as only 2,159 pigeons (65.44%) madeit home on the day out of 3,299 that were liberated.The OPEN result was as follows and CONGRATULATIONS goes to Loft Einkamerer fromSouth Africa who took 1 st Open with pigeon named Shiloh which was clocked at09.34.44.75 to record a velocity of 1298ypm (44mph), 2 nd just 10.65 seconds later HansHirn from Germany, 3 rd Manfred Tihen from Germany, 4 th Fahad R Alazme from Kuwait,5 th Bunag Loft from United States Of America, 6 th Koziol-Kaszuba from Poland, 7 th Hansand Evert-Jan Eijerkamp from Netherlands, 8 th Mee and Hatoum from United States OfAmerica, 9 th SG Heinrich u Juergen Reinhard from Germany, 10 th Team Mausen-Koelnfrom Germany, 11 th Ruediger Schoenau from Germany, 12 th Koopman Racing Team fromNetherlands, 13 th Salam Alotaibi from Kuwait, 14 th Ganus Family Loft from United StatesOf America, 15 th Ahsan Khan from United States Of America, 16 th Ganus Family Loft fromUnited States Of America, 17 th Maria u Hubert Bramkamp from Germany, 18 th KarlFuermsinn from Austria, 19 th Koopman Racing Team from Netherlands and 20 th Bernd uKarin Schnell from Germany. The time gap between the first 20 pigeons was 3 minutes05.40 seconds and a total of 7 different countries were represented in this result.A total of 2,159 pigeons were officially recorded on the day up to 19-35, leaving astaggering 1,140 (34.56%) pigeons still to make it back to the lofts. The clocking systemwas left on for Sunday and luckily the weather was OK and by 18.43 a further 684 pigeonshad returned to the lofts, making to running total up to 2,843 (86.17%) pigeons, whichstill left 456 to make it back to base camp. As this was an important <strong>race</strong> the clockingsystem was also left on during Monday and a further 83 returned up to 16.56 making atotal of 2,926 back in the lofts. The Tuesday loft listing showed 2,945 pigeons (89.27%) inthe lofts, which meant 354 (10.73%) were still missing.***BRAND NEW MOTOR CAR WINNER IN CAR RACE HOT SPOT 4 was won by LoftEinkamerer from South Africa with their pigeon named Shiloh that took 1 st Open which ofcourse made a late Christmas present for Butch Einkamerer.


***TWENTY US$1,000 (£625) CASH PRIZES IN CAR RACE HOT SPOT 4 were won by thepigeons that took 1 st , 2 nd , 3 rd , 4 th , 5 th , 7 th , 10 th , 11 th , 12 th , 13 th , 14 th , 16 th , 18 th , 19 th and20 th Open which are all mentioned above in the Open result which meant that five pigeonsfrom Poland, plus two from both United States Of America and Germany wereNot–Activated and did not win the allocated prize money. It really got worse because twomore pigeons that took 22 nd from Hungary and 23 rd from Belgium also were Not-Activated,so this meant that the pigeons that took 21 st from Netherlands, 24 th from Germany, 25 thfrom Netherlands, 26 th from Germany and 27 th from South Africa walked away with bonuscash prize of US$1,000 (£626) each for their efforts. That means that in the four CARRACE HOT SPOTS held so far in this <strong>race</strong> series a total of 13 have not been Activated andhave not won their US$1,000 (£625) cash prizes.***TWO PIGEON CHALLENGE OFFERS A US$2,000 (£1,300) CASH PRIZE was won by GanusFamily Loft from United States Of America with pigeons two in Team J, named Laura HasClass and Super Howard The First. This great loft also took the runners up position withtwo more of their pigeons, which is a truly remarkable performance. The first UnitedKingdom competitor took 35 th and was Mark Gilbert from Windsor with his two pigeons inTeam A, named Southfield Benji and Southfield Home. The first Irish competitor took 80 thand was Moran + Bowden with two pigeons in Team A named Lady Ellen and Andyman.***THE KNOCKOUT COMPETITION:- originally attracted 3,026 fully paid up pigeons and1,082 pigeons (55%) were still in the running in Round 3, this total contained 999International including 96 from the United Kingdom, 18 from Ireland and 83 from SouthAfrica. This figure would now be whittled down to 379 (35%) and after this tough <strong>race</strong> thefollowing pigeons still remaining in this tough competition and this total was made up by353 International pigeons which included 29 from the United Kingdom and 4 from Ireland,plus 26 from South Africa. These will now be entered for Round 4 which will take place onCAR RACE HOT SPOT 5 on Saturday 12 th January 2013 from 350km (218 miles) when thetop 76 (20%) pigeons will go through to the Knockout Final Round which will take placeon Saturday 2 nd February from 550km (342 miles) with the first pigeon being clocked inthe Final Race will walk away with a cool US$25,000 (£16,225) “POT OF GOLD” for itsefforts. I just goes to show how tough this round was because the last qualifying pigeonout of the 379 took 1,037 th position in CAR RACE HOT SPOT 4, which just goes to provethat many of the form pigeons just did not perform well in this <strong>race</strong>.***CAR RACE HOT SPOT 4 ACE PIGEON AWARD OFFERS A US$5,000 (£3,250) CASHPRIZE:- Now after 4 <strong>race</strong>s the leading pigeon is With All My Heart which is owned byStefaniszyn – Maas from Germany with a combined flying time of 11.44.28.88 nearly sixminutes in front of the next pigeon. The clocking system was left on during Monday to record later arrivalsand by 16.56 a further 11 pigeons had returned, leaving 45 still to make it back to basecamp.CONGRATULATIONS for winning 1 st Ireland, 53 rd Open went to Brammer and Nasher withpigeon named Shane which was clocked at 09.47.09.60, which was 12 minutes 24.85seconds behind the <strong>race</strong> winner, unfortunately Frank Brammer from Gloucester who was apartner in this syndicate died a couple of months ago, aged 94, I just know he would havebeen over the moon with this result, 2 nd Ireland, 58 th Open O’Donnell ABU Lofts, 3 rdIreland, 75 th Open Philip + Mark Smith, 4 th Ireland, 120 th Open another for O’Donnell ABULofts, 5 th Ireland, 210 th Open Moran + Bowden and 6 th Ireland, 220 th Open a third pigeonfor O’Donnell ABU Lofts. A total of 31 Irish pigeons were recorded on the day, leaving 13pigeons to return to the lofts. The clocking system was left on during Sunday and afurther 8 Irish pigeons returned making 39, which still left 5 to make it back to basecamp. The clocking system was left on during Monday to record later arrivals but no morereturned, leaving 5 missing from this <strong>race</strong>.THE OVERALL GRAND AVERAGES WHICH OFFERS A US$10,000 (£6,500), US$5,000(£3,250) and US$2,500 (£1,625) CASH PRIZES in this category results after 15 official<strong>race</strong>s currently stands as follows:- 1 st Yoyi Family Loft from United States Of America withhis pigeon named Lisit with a combined flying time of 24.25.19.77. The first UK pigeonholds 3 rd Open and is owned by Pieter Oberholster from Keysoe with his pigeon named ObiSee You with a combined flying time of 24.35.07.40. There are 7 UK pigeons in the top 84in this category. The first Irish pigeon holds 46 th Open and is owned by O’Donnell ABULofts with their pigeon named Joes Delight 2 bred by Maurice O’Donnell with a combinedflying time of 25.39.41.46.CASCADE CHALLENGE had 213 entries for CAR RACE HOT SPOT 4 and this included 22pigeons from the UK and only 2 from Ireland. The “POT OF GOLD” of US$8,213.50c(£5,476) was not won and this sum will be carried over to TRAINING FLIGHT 12, thenearest pigeon won 26 th Open for Horst u Frank Sander from Germany with their pigeonnamed Ornat. The best UK pigeon took 353 rd Open for N+A Evans and Cuthbert fromWolviston. The best Irish pigeon took 220 th Open for O’Donnell ABU Lofts with pigeonnamed Mrs Bucket.GLOBAL NOMINATIONS for this <strong>race</strong> amounted to US$14,092.15c (£9,395) and had a totalof 454 pigeons entered and this included 43 UK and 5 Irish pigeons, with as total of 1,615nominations. There were two UK winners 112 th Open Guys Lofts Elite with pigeon namedAngies Star and bred by Graham Guy from Wolverhampton won US$306 (£204) and 122 ndOpen Burns + Watkinson with pigeon named Heartbreaker bred by Graham Watkinson from

UNITED KINGDOM NOMINATIONS had 23 pigeons enteredand 84 nominations and there was three winners as follows:- 112 th Open Guys Lofts withAngies Star winning US$157.25c (£105), 157 th Open Lloyd and Kelly from Abingdon withJamie Ray winning US208.25c (£139) and 399 th Open Cullinane and Son from Todmordenwith Zena 1 winning US$15.30 (£10). There are 4 UKpigeons in this top 47 in this category.
