UNITED KINGDOM NOMINATIONS had 23 pigeons enteredand 84 nominations and there was three winners as follows:- 112 th Open Guys Lofts withAngies Star winning US$157.25c (£105), 157 th Open Lloyd and Kelly from Abingdon withJamie Ray winning US208.25c (£139) and 399 th Open Cullinane and Son from Todmordenwith Zena 1 winning US$15.30 (£10). CONGRATULATIONS TO THESE FANCIERS.TRAINING FLIGHT 12 was supposed to take place on Wednesday 2 nd January 2013 from78km (48 miles) but was cancelled because of the weather and the tough CAR RACE HOTSPOT 4 a few days before.TRAINING FLIGHT 13 took place on Saturday 5th January 2013 from 103km (64 miles)and the basketing list on the official web site showed a total of 2,971 pigeons beingbasketed and this total included 2,645 International, which included 259 United Kingdomand 39 Irish pigeons, plus 326 South African pigeons.The convoy were liberated at 07.40 in fine and warm and cloudy conditions with a lighthead wind and temperature of 17c (63f) and a reasonable <strong>race</strong> was expected.The OPEN result was as follows and CONGRATULATIONS goes to Team Sylt 2000 – Ferchenfrom Germany who took 1 st Open with his pigeon named Sylt Hot Stone which wasofficially clocked at 09.05.35.40 to record a winning velocity of 1310ypm (45mph), 2 ndjust 02.75 seconds behind the winner Dr Alfred Piaget from United States Of America, 3 rdC Brown – V Mudd – P Oberholster from United Kingdom, 4 th Castleguard Lofts fromCanada, 5 th Noriega Loft from United States Of America, 6 th Manchester Maestros fromUnited Kingdom, 7 th Hok Jos Vercammen from Belgium, 8 th Jiri Svoboda from CzechRepublic, 9 th Team Raetzel – Fischer from Germany, 10 th M u W Held from Germany, 11 thSMM Team from Slovakia, 12 th Team Bremen + Joksch + Waldow from Germany, 13 thKoopman Racing Team from Netherlands, 14 th Team Eagle Eye from Germany, 15 th JosefHuber from Germany, 16 th Ulrich Franzsander from Germany, 17 th Anfield Lofts fromZimbabwe, 18 th Bader Al-Sanafi from Kuwait, 19 th Thomas Kornelius from Germany and20 th Laro Ervin from Italy.
