YEPPER - March 2012 - Rotary District 9650 Youth Exchange

Hi!! This is my second yepper and I´m so happy to write it because everything is going
perfectly here! I´m really enjoying my second month of exchange, I like the school
subjects and teachers, I have met a lot of different people every day and I had also been
travelling a lot.
I was at the district conference on March 9th and it was simply awesome! I loved to meet
all of the exchange students, they´re all very nice and it was good to know about their
experience in Australia and know more about them too! It was very nice to meet my host
family during the conference too and Kate (from Coffs Harbour) who was hosted in the
same house of me. I felt really comfortable with them, I still talk with my host sister, and
I´m going to Kate´s house in a couple of weeks to stay in her place for some days during
the holidays.
The school is going very well, I made friends and I actually can understand better the
teachers. I had a music excursion to the Opera house and a Biology excursion to Diamond
beach, they were incredible! I learned a lot about both places and it was great to travel
with some school friends.
I went to Sydney with my host mother to spend a weekend visiting the zoo, the aquarium,
meeting three of my host brothers and sister and doing some shopping. It was very funny,
and I love animals so I found very interesting to know different animal species which I
never saw before!
I met a girl from Argentina, Valeria, who have been living in Newcastle for seven years
and she invited me to spend some days in her house during the holidays too. And also, a
girl from Gloucester, who was an exchange student to Argentina 18 years ago, invited me
and my host parents last weekend to a barbecue.
Next Friday I´m going to central coast with my host mother to spend Easter, and next
Monday I´m going to change my family. I have met my second host parents a couple of
times before, and my host sister is with me at school and I get on very well with all of
them. Although I´ll miss too much my actual host family, I think I´m going to have a good
time with them too!
I was cooking Empanadas (Argentinean food) and short cake with a school friend last
weekend. Everything was yummy, my host parents and she really like and it was also very
funny to cook with her!
