Hi! This month has by far been the best of my nine months in Australia! I’ve done so much amazing stuff and I’ve met so many awesome new people from all over the world! This great month started the day before the safari when me and my three best friends from school went in to Port Macquarie to have dinner since I was going away for five weeks and wouldn’t see them for so long. We went to Hogs Breath where we had a great big dinner and afterwards we bought the largest ice-‐creams I’ve ever seen and walked down near the water. We played in a playground for a while and I don’t think I’ve laughed so much for a long time! The morning after I headed off to go on the amazing safari! I spent 24 wonderful days travelling around Australia with exchange students from all over the world and it was just amazing! During these 24 days we drove 10,000km in a bus, climbed Uluru, walked in Kings Canyon, slept under the stars, shopped in Melbourne, shopped in Adelaide, scuba-‐dived in the Great Barrier Reef, went to Dreamworld, flew in a helicopter over the 12 apostles, rode on camels, held a olive python snake, slept underground, went in to a goldmine and a opal mine, slept in a gaol, went ocean-‐rafting in the Whitsundays, visited the Royal Flying Doctors, slept in the Old Station, had surf lessons in Byron Bay, dressed the boys as girls, saw a didgeridoo show and swam in a waterfall. We did so much in such a short time and now I think we’ve seen more of Australia than most of the people who actually live here! My favourite parts were: climbing Uluru, scuba-‐diving in the Great Barrier Reef and ocean-‐rafting in the Whitsundays! Uluru was one of the favourites because it was so massive! You really don’t realise how big it is until you’re actually there! And because I’m scared of heights but I still made it all the way up!! The scuba-‐diving was just amazing! We spent the whole day on a boat in the ocean. If we weren’t diving or snorkelling we were chilling in the sun on the boat. It was an awesome day! The ocean-‐rafting was probably my favourite, I think. We were out all day and we started off with some rafting and then snorkelling again. The best part of the day though was the Whitehaven Beach! It was no doubt the whitest beach I’ve ever seen and the water was so warm and nice! The weather was so good and I think everyone loved just chilling there! Everything we did during the trip was so good except saying goodbye… We’d only known each other for about three weeks most of us, but we’d done so much together and been with each other day and night for 24 days so it was really sad to say goodbye, especially since you know that you will probably never see some of these wonderful persons again. Almost everyone cried and I don’t think anyone wanted the safari to end! It’s now gone a week since we said goodbye and this week I’ve spent with my family who’s here from Sweden to visit me! It is my Mum, my Dad, my sister, my brother and my boyfriend who are here and it is so good seeing them again! It is a bit weird though because I can’t speak Swedish anymore, haha… I have to think about what I say otherwise it just comes out in English! During the week we’ve met all my host families, spent some time on the beach, looked around Wauchope and now we’re in Cairns for a while! I really can’t believe that the safari is already over and that my family are here already. Everything goes way to fast! I’ve been in Australia for nine months today; my year is almost over…
