A Letter from Vice Chancellor Young
Dear Students:
The African diasporic Cultural Resource Center (AdCRC)
provides a place for Black students, staff and faculty to meet
with and engage other members of the UCSB community. The
AdCRC is located in the new Student Resource Building (SRB), a
facility that houses a number of student centers as well as many
of the campus services that support students and help them
achieve both personal and academic success.
The vision of the Student Resource Building is to bring together
the range of communities that make up this state and nation to
forge a strong and inclusive campus community and to promote
positive student-to-student and group-to-group interaction—all
of this in preparation for local, state, and national leadership
in the 21st century. In this context, the AdCRC is a home for
Black students; it is a place that cares for them, supports them,
celebrates them, and promotes their success at UCSB.
I welcome you to the AdCRC and encourage you to participate in the events that the resource
center sponsors.
