For men’s b<strong>as</strong>ketball information, ple<strong>as</strong>e direct allrequests to b<strong>as</strong>ketball contact Richard Paige.Sean Miller Interview ProceduresArizona head coach Sean Miller is available for interviews by pre-arrangedappointment through the UA commuication services <strong>of</strong>fice. Miller’s weeklypress conference will be held in McKale Center on Monday or Tuesdayafternoons in either the commuication services work room (room 109C) orthe Ashley Lohse Room (room 329). Check with the UA commuicationservices <strong>of</strong>fice for start times and locations. Another way to get in touchwith Miller is through the weekly Pac-12 head coaches teleconference.Media members are advised to call the Arizona or Pac-12 media services<strong>of</strong>fices in advance to get the accurate time and date for each week’s call.UA Player Interview ProceduresArizona players will be available to the media around the time <strong>of</strong> Miller’sweekly press conference and <strong>as</strong> scheduled through the commuicationservices <strong>of</strong>fice. Players are not to be contacted outside <strong>of</strong> McKale Center andhome/cellular phone numbers will not be given to the media. Forinterviews with <strong>as</strong>sistant coaches, contact the commuication services <strong>of</strong>fice.Ple<strong>as</strong>e respect the student-athletes’ academic responsibilities whenrequesting longer interviews. Requests for coach and player interviewsshould be made at le<strong>as</strong>t 24 hours in advance. Players are <strong>of</strong>f limits ongame days (except postgame) and on days in between games on the road.Press Rele<strong>as</strong>esThe UA commuication services <strong>of</strong>fice will produce regular b<strong>as</strong>ketball pressrele<strong>as</strong>es that will generally be available by mid-day on Mondays and middayon the day after a game during the week. These will be available viathe UA athletics’ website (www.arizonawildcats.com), at the weekly SeanMiller press conference, and in the commuication services <strong>of</strong>fice. Ple<strong>as</strong>econtact Richard Paige to receive rele<strong>as</strong>es via e-mail.CredentialsSeating at press row, access to the press room, the interview room, photoare<strong>as</strong> and locker rooms are restricted to accredited media only. Credentialsare issued by game to members <strong>of</strong> the pr<strong>of</strong>essional working media only,and should be requested at le<strong>as</strong>t 48 hours in advance on companyletterhead or via e-mail. Credentials and media parking p<strong>as</strong>ses shall begranted on a space-available b<strong>as</strong>is to daily newspapers, television andradio stations on <strong>as</strong>signment and other coverage approved by the UA’scommuication services director. Due to limited space on press row, not allrequests will be approved. Credentials will not be issued to station generalmanagers.Media Parking and EntranceFor the <strong>2012</strong>-<strong>13</strong> se<strong>as</strong>on, media parking will be located on the UA Mall(center strip immediately north <strong>of</strong> McKale Center). All credentialed medi<strong>as</strong>hould enter the arena at the northe<strong>as</strong>t corner <strong>of</strong> the arena, through thedoors <strong>of</strong>f Martin Avenue next to the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center.Media Will CallAll credentials will be available for pickup at the commuications services<strong>of</strong>fice until three hours prior to game time, and then will be available atthe media entrance (northe<strong>as</strong>t corner <strong>of</strong> McKale Center). Ple<strong>as</strong>e haveproper forms <strong>of</strong> identification when picking up press credentials. Except forspecial c<strong>as</strong>es, credentials will not be mailed.Game Day Media ServicesGame notes, media guides and rosters will be available in media workroom, which is located just <strong>of</strong>f the hallway under the seats in the north end<strong>of</strong> the arena (McKale Center Room 109C). Halftime statistics will bedistributed along press row and in the media work room. Final statisticswill be delivered to the interview room and the work room. Full statistics,play-by-play sheets, postgame notes and quotes will be distributed in thework room <strong>as</strong> well. Phone lines will be available on a shared b<strong>as</strong>is alongpress row. Additionally, there is wireless internet access in McKale Center.The commuications services <strong>of</strong>fice will transmit a final box at your request.Radio/TV statisticians, spotters, runners, etc. are available via requestthrough Richard Paige in the UA commuication services <strong>of</strong>fice. We requestthat when prior arrangements are made to use the statisticians, they mustbe paid whether they are employed or not.Postgame ProceduresArizona’s locker room is closed postgame. Selected players and CoachMiller will be brought to a designated interview area (room 109C at home)following a 5-10 minute cooling <strong>of</strong>f period. Anyone requesting a specificplayer should contact Richard Paige prior to the end <strong>of</strong> the contest. SeanMiller h<strong>as</strong> a primary obligation to television networks and the Wildcat106Radio Network and then will proceed to the interview room (109C).Visiting teams will follow their own policies in McKale Center.Phone LinesThe Wildcat Radio Network h<strong>as</strong> installed phone lines for visiting radio ona reciprocal b<strong>as</strong>is. Contact Brian Jeffries at (520/626-7660) for additionalinformation. Media needing their own phone lines on press row can contactthe <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> Arizona phone <strong>of</strong>fice (520/621-5232).Still PhotographersCourtside photo access will be granted only to working media photographersand must be requested by editors or sports directors. Tripods areprohibited. Strobe lighting for non-NCAA Championship games may beinstalled on a c<strong>as</strong>e-by-c<strong>as</strong>e b<strong>as</strong>is, but must be approved and installed wellin advance <strong>of</strong> any game. Still photographers are restricted to the designatedb<strong>as</strong>eline are<strong>as</strong> (northwest and southe<strong>as</strong>t floor area). Additionally,anyone with permission to access strobes in the rafters MUST EXIT therafters 90 minutes prior to tip-<strong>of</strong>f. NO EXCEPTIONS. Access to this area isfor technical purposes related to strobes ONLY and NOT <strong>as</strong> a vantage pointfor photos. Access onto the catwalks is restricted during events. Failure toobey this policy affords the <strong>University</strong> the right to press charges thatinclude endangerment and tresp<strong>as</strong>s.RESERVING PHOTO BOXES: The b<strong>as</strong>eline photo boxes marked forphotographers will be <strong>as</strong>signed to photographers possessing a UA se<strong>as</strong>onmedia credential. All other available spots remain available on a firstcome,first-served b<strong>as</strong>is. However, boxes CANNOT be reserved with acard any more than three hours prior to tip-<strong>of</strong>f. Cards placed in the boxesin advance <strong>of</strong> that deadline will be removed.News Television PhotographersTelevision photographers are restricted to the same b<strong>as</strong>eline are<strong>as</strong> <strong>as</strong> stillphotographers. No live shots will be permitted on the floor prior to orduring any game. Additionally, no arena live shots can take place inare<strong>as</strong> that restrict spectator views or access to walkways or the seating area.Broadc<strong>as</strong>t TelevisionLive television crews have locations at mid-court. There is opportunity forb<strong>as</strong>eline camera locations next to the b<strong>as</strong>ket supports. Per Pac-12 rules, atno time will camer<strong>as</strong> be allowed in the team bench area. All televisioncables are permanently installed.Broadc<strong>as</strong>t RightsAll requests for radio and television rights and fees should be directed toJames Francis, UA senior <strong>as</strong>sociate director <strong>of</strong> athletics (520/621-8001).Press RowPress seating is located on the floor along the west side <strong>of</strong> the McKaleCenter playing floor and in the middle level <strong>of</strong> seating in section 24. Pressrow is reserved for working media members only. Friends, spouses andchildren are not allowed to sit at press row, in compliance with the UnitedStates <strong>B<strong>as</strong>ketball</strong> Writers Association working code. It should go withoutsaying that cheering <strong>of</strong> any sort is not permitted.NBA ScoutsAll authorized NBA scouts are required to purch<strong>as</strong>e a ticket through theMcKale Center Ticket Office at (800) 452-2287 (fax 520/621-2419). NBArequests must be made on team letterhead and be guaranteed with a creditcard. All requests will be verified by the NBA. The best available seat willbe issued, however with McKale Center being sold out for the l<strong>as</strong>t 25years, these tickets may not be near courtside (NBA scouts do not sit onpress row). Media guides and game notes will be available for all NBAscouts in the work room (McKale Center Room 109). It is recommended thatNBA organizations contact the McKale Center Ticket Office on or beforeNov. 1, the date any remaining single-game tickets go on sale to thegeneral public.Directions to McKale CenterFrom Tucson International Airport: Follow Tucson Boulevard out <strong>of</strong> TucsonInternational airport to Kino Parkway (three miles).
