Sistemul de acordare a gradelor (centurilor) este
foarte exigent, [i asta face din Kyokushin Karate
o [coal` foarte respectat` peste tot în lume. Mul]i
aceste lucruri dovedesc c` metodele tradi]ionale
Sosai Masutatsu Oyama (the founder of Kyokushin
continuous development, root from which emerged
other competitive styles.
The awarding system for degrees (belts) is very
exigent and that makes Kyokushin Karate a
highly respected school all over the world. Many
Kyokushin fighters have had successful participation
in professional competitions with high ranking, for
example K1. For the past few years IKO 1 has
organized ICHIGEKI-FIGHT Championships on
professional level, with Kyokushin, K1 and MMA
(mix martial arts) fighting rules. All these prove that
traditional methods of training can indeed be easily
blended with more modern ones, and that Kyokushin
becomes more and more complete.
It all started in 1993. As I was looking for a bodybuilding
training gym, I entered the only place I knew
having that kind of equipments, a gym from Jilava
zone. There, under the guidance of Sensei Toader
Florian I started practicing Karate, and this decision
has proved to be very beneficial.
International Karate Organisation Kyokushinkaikan
(IKO 1) has confirmed to have 12 millions
practitioners world wide, and it is considered to be
one of the most powerful organization of martial arts.
The head-quarters of this organization is in Tokyo,
Japan, and it is led by Kancho Shokei Matsui 9
conduc`torul ei, Shihan Seiji Isobe, formând o echip`
buni karateka. Organiza]ia European` este condus`
Campionatele Mondiale sunt de dou` feluri:
- C.M. Open b`ie]i, organizate din 4 în 4 ani. Peste
Open, intrun
Da, România este foarte
bine reprezentat`, al`turi de
mari forte mondiale precum
Brazilia, Japonia, Rusia.
România a avut o baz`
Dan. In Japan it is considered the most popular style
of Karate, and the performance level is very high .
Japan’s Championships are real “battle-field wars”,
counting on a very big number of participants. Next
to Japan, Brazil is a true force in Kyokushin, it’s leader,
Shihan Seiji Isobe, forming an outstanding fighting
team, with Francisco Filho and Glaube Feitosa. Russia
is represented each year by very good fighters. In
Northern America US and Canada, Shihan Katsushito
Gorai has organized yearly international championships
that gathered the best of karateka. The European
Organization is led by Shihan Lock Hollander and
Shihan Antonio Pinero. The Championships organized
every year, helped fighters all over Europe achieve
great progress. It is very important that we all walk the
same path and be part of the big family of Kyokushin
Karate, as a beautiful and unique style.
In Kyokushin, the path to an European or world title
is very difficult, even to reach a “first-three level”.
World Championships are of two kinds: one is Men
World Championship Open, organized once every
4 years. Over 250 participants are challenged on a
three-day period for the Champion title. The other is
WorldChampionship Categories, organized in the
same manner once every 4 years, but the challengers
must gather points in each competition during the 4
year period. There is another type of competition that is
European Chanpionship on categories, organized every
year, and it’s a Eu.Ch open method, with a very high
level of competition. Yearly there are preparing periods
for Eastern and Western Europe, with the presence of
Kancho Shokei Matsui, IKO1 leader, in my opinion the
most technical fighter and a very good trainer of kumite
(challenge).
The most difficult challenge for me was in 2003, the
National Championship final, against Lucian Gogonel
(multiple national champion, European champion at
several categories, and then the next world champion
in Japan 2005). It was a very difficult fight, as long
as 3 rounds, at the end of which I became a national
champion with a 3 to 2 decision in my favour.
Regarding international competitions, confronting
Krzysztof Habraszka (Poland), in the finals of Eu.Ch.
OPEN Warsaw 2004, was by far the most difficult.
I think I clearly dominated him, in front of 8000
polish fans, and the decision was tie and I lost the
Tameshi - wari test (specific plank-braking Kyokushin
Karate test), to a plank difference, considering I was
21 pounds lighter than my
competitor.
very important for me to
