New Tron AIS-SART 

GMDSS Search And Rescue Transmitter

From January 1st 2010, the AIS-SART will be adopted into the GMDSS regulations as an alternative to the standard 

Radar-SART. Technically, the AIS-SART is based on the following principals; the unit will be programmed from the 

manufacturer with a unique ID code (not specific to the vessel) and receives its position via an internal GPS antenna. 

This data is combined and transmitted using the international AIS channels (AIS A and AIS B) in the maritime 

VHF band. The ID code appears on all installed AIS transponders and connected equipment, an AIS-SART will be 

seen on an electronic chart as a circle with a built-in cross (see picture below).

TRON S-VDR FLOAT FREE CAPSULE 

This multipurpose float free maritime safety product contains both a conventional GMDSS satellite 

EPIRB and also a storage media for VDR (Voyage Data Recorder). 

Designed to meet the proposed S-VDR requirement. Approved according to IMO A810 (19), 

IEC-61996 annex D and other relevant product standard. 

Built in EPIRB 

GMDSS float-free satellite Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon, EPIRB with 

built in GPS. Operates on the COSPAS - SARSAT frequency 406 MHz. Identification 

and positioning via satellite. Transmits also on the air traffic emergency frequency

Built in VDR storage media: 

The TRON S-VDR CAPSULE will at all times have in store a loop of the latest 12 

hours recorded data provided from the VDR-system installed on board the 

vessel. Floats to the surface keeping the VDR information available even if the 

vessel should sink. No expensive and time consuming under water search for 

the ship mounted memory bank (FRM-Final Recording Media) required. The 

TRON S-VDR CAPSULE will duplicate all on board VDR recorded and stored 

information. It can be connected to all existing VDR systems on the market. 

Standard Ethernet interfacing. The TRON S-VDR CAPSULE storage media is 

mounted separately in the special battery unit of a well proven Tron float free 

EPIRB housing. Service and installation can easily be done at one of JOTRON’s 

authorised service stations worldwide.

3130 consists of a Master Station and a Remote Master Station 3132, allowing 15 lines and up to 4 remote Master

– BTS 4000 

The BTS 4000 is an internal emergency telephone circuit, specifically designed for important communication 

links onboard all types of vessels. Primarily designed for emergency communications in the event of the 

main power supply failure, the BTS 4000 allows between six and nine minutes of continuous communication 

by using the “Hand Generator” but under normal circumstances the system can be connected to 24VDC 

for continuous operation and “day to day” use. 

The system is based around two types of unit, the 4050 – single line and the 4060 – twelve line version. 

A complete system may consist of various combinations of these units and accessories dependent 

on the call selection required. 

Standard operation is 24VDC using outer-screened twisted pair cabling, with 0.75mm2 conductivity.

BRIDGE WATCH ALARM SYSTEM 

The purpose of a bridge navigational watch alarm system (BNWAS) is to monitor bridge activity and detect operator 

disability which could lead to marine accidents. The system monitors the awareness of the Officer of the Watch 

(OOW) and automatically alerts the Captain or another qualified OOW if for any reason the OOW becomes incapable 

of performing the OOW’s duties. This purpose is achieved by a series of indications and alarms to alert first the OOW 

and, if he is not responding, then to alert the Captain or another qualified OOW. Additionally, the BNWAS may provide
