Assists with the scheduling of classes within established guidelines to meet students’needs.15. Assists with the development, revision and evaluation of the curriculum.16. Assists with the supervision of the guidance program to enhance individual studenteducation and development.17. Attends special events held to recognize student achievement, and attends schoolsponsored activities, functions and athletic events.18. Assists with student conduct and maintenance of a healthy, safe environment for students.19. Assists with personal professional growth and development through membership andparticipation in relevant professional organizations (through attendance at regional, state,and national meetings), and through enrollment in advanced courses, and the like.20. Keeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professionalmeetings, reading professional journals and other publications, and discussing problems ofmutual interest with others in the field.21. Assists with the recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning and evaluating of theschool’s professional staff.22. Assists with the orientation and development of the newly assigned staff members throughthe <strong>District</strong>’s mentor teacher program.23. Assists with conducting meetings of the staff as necessary for the proper functioning of theschool.24. Assists with the in-service orientation and training of teachers, and staff administrativeprocedures and instructions.25. Assists with the supervision of the daily use of the school facilities for both academic andnon-academic purposes.26. Assists with planning and supervising fire drills and the emergency preparedness program.27. Directs cafeteria supervision, as needed.28. Assists with requisitions supplies, textbooks and equipment; conducts educationalinventories, maintains records and checks on receipts for such material.29. Helps supervise the reporting and monitoring of student attendance and works with theindividual(s) responsible for attendance to investigate follow-up actions.30. Assists the principal with direct supervision and evaluation of teachers. Assists with thejoint supervision, and provides input for evaluations as necessary, the following positions(in cooperation with other <strong>District</strong> administrators): Guidance counselors, nurses, healthroom/office assistants, instructional and non-instructional aides, head custodians,custodians, coaches, assistant coaches, and athletic trainers.31. Assists with the supervision and evaluation of custodial services at the building level,including a review of building maintenance needs, which will be requested through theestablished work order system. Assists with the annual evaluation of building custodians,including the completion of walk-throughs, and also provides input for custodial inspectionreports, summer schedule, and staff training in cooperation with the <strong>Principal</strong> and theDepartment of Facilities and Custodial Services.
