Assumes other duties as may be assigned by the <strong>Principal</strong> or <strong>Assistant</strong> Superintendent ofSecondary Education. The <strong>District</strong> reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.COGNITIVE ABILITIESAbility to establish and maintain rapport with staff, business associates, and general community.Ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.Ability to recognize areas of concern relating to educational leadership issues and propose orrecommend appropriate solutions to problems.Ability to communicate effectively.Ability to exercise initiative and make independent decisions to reschedule work to meet deadlinesor to effectively handle emergency work.PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONSThe requirements of this position are:Pennsylvania <strong>Principal</strong> Certification required; Pennsylvania K-12 <strong>Principal</strong> Certificationpreferred.Master’s Degree related to education.Minimum of five years of professional and / or administrative experience preferred,appropriate to the position.Demonstrated knowledge and application of effective educational leadership principles,practices and trends.Must be able to perform the above responsibilities at a high level.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesMust be an advocate for children, youth and public education.Must have the interest and ability to work as a member of an Executive Leadership Team.Must possess Executive Core Qualifications, including the ability to lead change and leadpeople, the ability to meet <strong>District</strong> goals with a focus on results, the possession of businessacumen, and the ability to build coalitions. Must be able to lead and manage, and to ensurethat targeted goals and initiatives are achieved.Ability to demonstrate character, personality, and proper social capability to relateeffectively with students, staff, and a wide variety of school and community groups andorganizations.Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively.Ability to work harmoniously and effectively with individuals and groups.
