Risks inherent in thetransport, handling and storage of chlorine gas orcommercial sodium hypochlorite solutions are eliminated.Local regulatory issues often limit the use ofchlorine gas for safety reasons.OSEC® systems produce directly on site sodium hypochloritefrom a saturated solution of common saltand electricity. Generation takes place on demandonly. The hypo produced in batch operation doesvirtually not degrade in strength even if it is storedover an extended period of time.The anodes used are made from titanium with a preciousmetal coating. This construction allows to granta five calendar years warranty after installation andcommissioning. The cathodes are made from a specialgrade Hastelloy C. Automatic control of the sup-ply voltage combined with a programmable periodiccleaning cycle of the monopolar electrodes by dilutehydrochloric acid ensure a virtually operator-free performance.The number of anodes in the electrolysercan be customised to produce the desired quantityof chlorine.
