Frog Island is located in the northwest ofinner-city Leicester, and is so namedbecause it lies between the River Soarand the Grand Union Canal.Frog Island was home to manyprominent factories. After the decline ofthe manufacturing sector in the secondhalf of the 20 th century, Frog Island hasbeen in the process of re-inventing itself.
