Selecting the Right Desiccant DryerIt’s all about choices. Whether it’s lower operating costs ora lower capital investment, Ingersoll Rand has a desiccantdryer that fits your needs. What Differentiates Ingersoll Rand Desiccant DryersIngersoll Rand desiccant dryers are designed to virtuallyeliminate costly production interruptions due tomoisture. All of our dryers use twin desiccant towers andstrategically positioned valves for drying compressed air.Switching valves are normally open, while purge valvesare normally closed to allow air flow through the dryer incase of power loss. Strategically-placed filters thatremove oil and contaminants ensure only clean, dried airexits the dryer. Every dryer features an IP54 package, providing increased protection of electrical components, controls and displays. Both heatless and heated blowerdryers have several standard features to ensure highquality operation as well as options to customise dryersto fit the needs of your air system.Heatless dryers are lower incapital investment, but requirea small portion of the driedcompressed air to be divertedfrom the air system fordesiccant regeneration.Heated blower dryers havea higher initial investment, but with no or little diversionof compressed air from thesystem for regeneration, they offer significantlylower operating costs. How Desiccant Dryers WorkHighly adsorbent desiccant removes moisture fromcompressed air as it passes through the online dryertower. The difference between our two technologiesis how moisture is desorbed from the desiccant(regeneration) – see diagrams on page 5.Features and Options Heatless Desiccant Dryer Heated Blower Desiccant DryerEnergy Management System (EMS) Option StandardCompressed Air Used for Regeneration 15% 0%Controller Digital Microprocessor Digital MicroprocessorEnvironmental Protection IP54 (Option for IP65) IP54 (Option for IP65)Available Flow Range (2.8 m 3 /min - 55.9 m 3 /min) (8.9 m 3 /min - 248.6 m 3 /min)Constant Pressure Dew Point -40°C (Option for -70°C) -40°CIncluded Filtration Heavy Duty Pre-filters & After-filters Heavy Duty Pre-filters & After-filtersPressure Rating 10 bar g 10 bar gTower Insulation Not Available OptionStainless Steel Control Lines Option OptionDryer Bypass Option OptionHeatless Back-up Mode Not Applicable Standard4 Desiccant Dryers
