Colours were standardised across all species (seeFig. 2).The probabilities for each grid-square (i.e. map pixel) were summedacross all species to produce a map of predicted butterfly species diversity.To perform the gap analysis for the butterflies of Egypt, the predictedpattern of species richness was compared with the map of the ProtectedAreas.شكل ١: كيفية تحديد المنطقة التى يحتلها النوع ومدى انتشاره طبقاً‏ لقواعد الاتحاد الدولى لصون الطبيعة:‏(a) المنطقة التى يحتلها النوع،‏ كل مربع يمثل مساحة قدرها ٤٫٢ كم‎٢‎ ‏(صورة مكبرة)‏(b) مدى انتشار النوع،‏ وتشمل المساحة الكلية المسجل منها جميع الأفراد مع طرح مساحة المياه فى خليجالسويس.‏بعد تجميع البيانات،‏ قام فريق البيوماب ببدء تمثيل كل نوع على الخرائط على شكل نقاط تمثلأماكن تواجُ‏ د النوع.‏ وباستخدام تلك الخريطة مع خرائط البيانات الجغرافية السابق ذكرها،‏تم بدء عملية التحليل لإصدار خريطة توضح الأماكن المتوقع وجود النوع بها ‏(التنبؤ بأماكنوجود النوع كما فى شكل ٢).لقد تم إستخدام إحتمالية وجود كل نوع من الفراشات وتم جُ‏ مع تلك الاحتماليات لجميع الانواعوتم إصدار الخريطة المرفقة فى شكل ٢ والتى تتناول التنبؤ بدرجات توزيع وتواجد أنواعالفراشات المخلتفة فى مصرتم استخدام خريطة التنبؤ بأماكن تواجُ‏ د وانتشار الفراشات المصرية،‏ ومقارنتها بخريطة شبكةالمحميات الطبيعية فى مصر،‏ وذلك باستخدام تقنية الفجوة،‏ لبيان مدى تغطية نظام المحمياتالطبيعية للأماكن الهامة للفراشات فى مصر من عدمه.‏(b)11
