ANNOUNCEMENTOF A IAMLADP JOINT TRAINING VENTUREUnder the auspices of the IAMLADP Working Group on Training, thefollowing joint training venture is hereby announced:Title:Tools for External Translators - Needs and SolutionsBriefdescription:Targetpopulation:This training session is designed to assist managers in making the most ofpromising new technologies, such as dedicated extranet sites and portals,to facilitate the smooth integration of outside translators into anorganization’s language services. These tools can be used to provide easyaccess to reference materials, terminology databases, style guidelines andglossaries. They offer a channel for external translators to collaborate andexchange information with in-house staff, and they can be utilized toaddress terminology issues, share basic texts, identify passages that havealready been translated, and communicate other key information.Managers of Translation Services; Managers of Outsourcing, Referenceand Terminology support; senior translators and revisers entrusted withthe distribution of work.Language(s) oftuition:TrainerDate andduration:Venue:The presentation will be done in French. However, the list ofparticipants, together with a list of unsuccessful applicants, shall be communicated to the JointTraining Ventures task force of the IAMLADP Working Group on Training, with a view toorganizing further ventures of the same type where justified by demand.
