9001596_MI_02.10.11-ENTROLLEYS – Instruction, Use and Maintenance Manual16. MAINTENANCE16.1. Electric pumpsRequirements forstorageThe electric pumps must be stored in a sheltered place with an ambienttemperature between 5°C and 40°C.If they are to be put away for a prolonged period of time, make sure that thestorage place is clean, dry and free from vibrations. The pump must be operated for 10 seconds at least once every two weeks. Before start-up measure the insulation resistance of the electric motor and ifnecessary dry out the coil.Insulation resistanceWhen the electric pump is started up for the very first time or after it has beenin storage or inactive (stopped) for a long time, the electric motor coilresistance must be measured beforehand. This measurement is carried outby applying a 500V Direct Current and after approximately 1 minute the lastresistance value is read.WARNINGDuring the measurement or immediately afterwards, it is of theutmost importance to avoid the danger of contact with thepowered motor terminals. Furthermore, if the power cables areconnected, it is important to make sure that the circuit isdefinitely interrupted. This warning is valid for both main andauxiliary circuits and above all for anti-condensation heatingcircuits (heating elements). In dry coils such as new ones, the insulation resistance is greatly higher thanthe limit of 10MΩ.The insulation resistance of the coils of a motor which operates for a longtime in a damp, dirty environment may drop.In this case the minimum insulation resistance at an ambient temperature of25°C must not exceed 0.5M Ω / kV, which represents the specific critical valueof the resistance (the minimum insulation resistance of motor coils = ratedvoltage (in kV) x 0.5MΩ which is the specific critical value of the resistance).WARNINGIf the measured insulation resistance is lower than the minimumvalue it is forbidden to operate the motor.THIS MANUAL IS THE PROPERTY OF - InterPuls S.p.A. - ANY COPYING, EVEN PARTIAL, IS STRICTLY PROHIBITEDMI - 26
