The prizemoney for men and women will be: 1st$4,000, 2nd $3,000, 3rd $2,000, 4th $1,000,5th $500, 6th $500.Ilford Get FaciltyThe purchase of the freehold of Ilford AC'sforest clubhouse site at Chigwell Row hasbeen completed. Ilford had leased thisfacility until now. The project has beencompletely funded from the legacy of clubstalwart Edgar Moon's estate and fromgenerous donations from many clubmembers including Edgar’s son, Brian. TheIlford spokesman commented on signing thedeal; “The club has had a strong presencein the area since 1923 and now that wecompletely own our Clubhouse we canguarantee that this will continue for yearsto come and also seek to develop the siteas a road and cross country centre forthe benefit of all”.Announcements100 Mile <strong>Walk</strong> Back ONLong distance enthusiasts should reservethe weekend of 7th/8th August, as a 100mile walk is to be held in Castle Park,Colchester. The event is being organisedby Chris Flint and preparations are wellunder way. Chris expects a good turnoutof over 30 for this Centurion qualifyingevent, despite the short notice. It has notyet been decided whether this event willalso be the <strong>2010</strong> National Long DistanceChampionships, but the number andquality of entries received within the nextfew weeks will affect the decision. Theannual 100 miles was originallyscheduled to take place on the Isle ofMan but was cancelled due toconstruction works.RWR ArchivesFollowing a call in the last issue, DougFotheringham has kindly offered toprovide the entire 400 missing backissues of <strong>Race</strong> <strong>Walk</strong>ing Record for thenew online archives. Doug recentlycelebrated his 80th birthday, and hasbeen heavily involved in race walking for60 years.International Results<strong>Race</strong> <strong>Walk</strong>ing Record magazine will nowinclude all major overseas walking resultsby popular request. A new section on thewebsite will also list international resultsas soon as they are available. Resultsstart later in this issue.
