Volunteers: Teaching Work Readiness, Entrepreneurship, and Financial LiteracyJunior Achievement’s success stems from connecting caring volunteers withstudents throughout Kentuckiana. Volunteers teach students about oureconomy, personal money management, and business success skills.This year more than 2,200 business professionals, parents, high schoolstudents, retirees and college students taught Junior Achievement programs.These volunteers use their personal experiences to make the JuniorAchievement lessons practical, realistic and fun.Alicia Dawson (left) and Tanea Craddieth (right)with AT&T President Joan Coleman during JA &AT&T Job Shadow Day.Ways to Get Involved1) Teach one of JA’sclassic in-schoolprograms to 3rdgraders or highschool students. Bydonating 45 minutesof time for 5-7 weeks,volunteers help JAbecome a successfulbridge betweeneducation and business.Comprehensiveclassroom materials and athorough training processprepare volunteers toenter the classroom andteach JA programs.2) Volunteer for a dayin one of JA’s learninglabs.
