Promoting your winnerHaving a winning site manager on board can enhance your reputationespecially if their success is well promoted through the media. Below wehave included some ideas to help promote your winner. Holding a site party will reinforce yourappreciation of your employees’ achievements and is a good way to generate publicity. Your guest listcould include your site team, representatives of the company, including your MD, the regional pressand a local celebrity or political figure to present the award.Press the pressIf you are holding a site party a good way to maximise publicity of the event is to invite the localnewspapers and representatives from radio and television stations. Everyone loves a good newsstory, so why not inform them of your event by sending them a news release about the eventbeforehand. There is an example of a news release you can use and tips on how to write one overleaf.Even if the press are unable to attend on the day, send them a news release and a photograph of thewinner anyway and they may cover the story.Photo call!A site party is the perfect opportunity to take photos of your winner with their team. If a localcelebrity or political figure is able to attend, invite them to present the award, which would also makea great photo for local press. As well as accompanying your news release, these photos can be usedin company literature and advertising features.Get noticed - create an on-site displayYou can promote your site manager’s achievement to potential homebuyers, all year round bycreating a visual on-site display. NHBC produces Pride in the Job site boards at each Award stage ofthe competition, which are only given to winning site managers for use on their sites.
