By 1940 twenty-eight children, including boys, attended the Kindergarten. In 1971, one hundred and sixty seven students were enrolled in the Junior School and today the number isthree hundred and forty. In 1964, following building extensions, Barclay House became the home of all Junior School classes inthe College. The Junior School thenbecame Kindergarten to Year 6 with an additional Year 6 class added. In late 2007, major internal reorganisation and refurbishment of Barclay House facilities occurred. Thisincluded the development of the Early Years Centre (Kindergarten and Pre Primary) when the Lorna Dicksonlibrary was transformed into two large modern classrooms, which open up into the Early Years playground. The Library was relocated to what used to be the Staff room and the Staff Room has moved to Sumner1.10. Double streamed classes were introduced to kindergarten and Years 3-6 classes. At the end of 2008 the Year 6 team moved into Level 1 of Sumner House to form the Year 6 LearningCommunity. In 2010 the Junior School changed its name to the Junior Years at MLC reflecting the College’sdesire to become a K-12 school.Today MLC enrols over 1000 students.
