<strong>2013</strong> <strong>YMCA</strong> Edmonton <strong>Peace</strong> <strong>Medals</strong> Nomination Criteria and Form The <strong>YMCA</strong> <strong>of</strong> Edmonton asks <strong>for</strong> your help to identify individuals or groups involved in peacemaking initiatives in local or international communities. <strong>Peace</strong>making initiatives can focus on values like equality, cultural diversity, tolerance, respect, and conflict resolution. These values can be upheld through collaboration, education, mentoring, or fundraising. We believe it is important to recognize and celebrate people dedicated to promoting peace in everyday life. The <strong>YMCA</strong> <strong>Peace</strong> Medallion and Youth <strong>Peace</strong> Medallion are intended to do just that! Do you know an individual or group who voluntarily contributes to peace building in your community or overseas? The call <strong>for</strong> nominations has now started <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> adult and youth categories <strong>for</strong> local and international peace initiatives. Thank you <strong>for</strong> your help in nominating individuals or groups who demonstrate vision, creativity, and an extraordinary commitment to making our communities, country or world more peaceful and just. Please read <strong>the</strong> nomination criteria below be<strong>for</strong>e submitting your nomination <strong>for</strong>m. 1. Nominees must reside within greater Edmonton and/or Grande Prairie, and have conducted <strong>the</strong>ir peace initiatives between October 2012 and October <strong>2013</strong>. 2. Nominees in <strong>the</strong> Local categories should have conducted work that primarily impacted people locally. Nominees in <strong>the</strong> International categories should have conducted work that primarily impacted people overseas. Youth nominees should be aged 18 or younger. 3. Nominations will be judged solely on <strong>the</strong> in<strong>for</strong>mation provided by <strong>the</strong> nominator. 4. The deadline <strong>for</strong> nominations is October 15, <strong>2013</strong>. 5.
