Undergradu<strong>at</strong>e students should have completed a minimum <strong>of</strong> 12semester credit hours <strong>of</strong> language courses in the Department <strong>of</strong> Modern Languages <strong>at</strong> the<strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Texas</strong> <strong>at</strong> <strong>Arlington</strong> with a minimum overall college GPA <strong>of</strong> 3.0. Gradu<strong>at</strong>estudents are to have completed a minimum <strong>of</strong> 12 gradu<strong>at</strong>e semester hours in a language <strong>at</strong>UTA with a minimum overall GPA <strong>of</strong> 3.0. Award amounts may range from $500.00 up to$4000.00 as determined by the <strong>Scholarship</strong> Advisory Committee in the Department <strong>of</strong>Modern Languages. Students must be enrolled fulltime (12 hours for undergradu<strong>at</strong>es; 9hours for gradu<strong>at</strong>e students) to remain eligible for the <strong>Scholarship</strong>. Gradu<strong>at</strong>e students haveto be enrolled for a minimum <strong>of</strong> 5 gradu<strong>at</strong>e hours for the two summers sessions combined,if the award is to be used in the summer. Applicants should submit one (1) letter <strong>of</strong>recommend<strong>at</strong>ion; an un<strong>of</strong>ficial copy <strong>of</strong> your transcript; a copy <strong>of</strong> your Financial AidSt<strong>at</strong>ement and a two-page essay addressing your appreci<strong>at</strong>ion for the study <strong>of</strong> foreignlanguages and/or your intentions to utilize your knowledge <strong>of</strong> a foreign language topositively impact our world. Applicants/recipients may reapply in consecutive years.
