<strong>Shri</strong> S. <strong>Jaipal</strong> <strong>Reddy</strong> <strong>dedicates</strong> <strong>GAIL</strong>’s <strong>Chainsa</strong> - Sultanpur –Neemrana pipeline to the Nation<strong>Shri</strong> S. <strong>Jaipal</strong> <strong>Reddy</strong> launches new look website of <strong>GAIL</strong><strong>Shri</strong> S. <strong>Jaipal</strong> <strong>Reddy</strong> visits <strong>GAIL</strong> Corporate Office, reviewsactivitiesNew Delhi, April 9, 2011. <strong>Shri</strong> S. <strong>Jaipal</strong> <strong>Reddy</strong>, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleumand Natural Gas today dedicated the <strong>Chainsa</strong> - Sultanpur – Neemranapipeline of <strong>GAIL</strong> to the Nation. <strong>Shri</strong> S. Sundareshan, Secretary, Ministry ofPetroleum and Natural Gas, <strong>Shri</strong> B. C. Tripathi, Chairman and ManagingDirector, <strong>GAIL</strong> were present on the occasion. <strong>Shri</strong> Sudhir Bhargava,Additional Secretary, MoPNG, <strong>Shri</strong> R D Goyal, Director (Projects), <strong>Shri</strong> S LRaina, Director (HR), <strong>Shri</strong> Prabhat Singh, Director (Marketing), <strong>Shri</strong> SVenkatraman, Director (BD), <strong>Shri</strong> P K Jain, Director (Finance), <strong>Shri</strong> ArunSinghal, CVO, <strong>GAIL</strong>, <strong>Shri</strong> Manu Srivastava, Director, MoPNG and othersenior officials of MoPNG and <strong>GAIL</strong> were also present on the occasion.Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas dedicated the pipeline to theNation from the <strong>GAIL</strong> Corporate Office during his visit to review the activitiesof the Company. The Hon’ble Minister opened the valve of the pipeline at<strong>Chainsa</strong> through remote access and soon the gas flowed from the pipeline.Immediately thereafter, the control of the system was transferred to theNational Gas Management Centre of <strong>GAIL</strong> at Noida. The 218 km <strong>Chainsa</strong> -Sultanpur – Neemrana pipeline has been laid at an investment of Rs. 710crore against an approved cost of Rs. 960 crore, thereby making a saving ofRs. 250 crore. With the commissioning of the pipeline an additionaltransmission capacity of 35 MMSCMD has been added to <strong>GAIL</strong>’s network.The <strong>Chainsa</strong> – Sultanpur - Neemrana pipeline will supply gas to 14consumers in industrial areas viz. Neemrana, Manesar, Dharuhera andKhushkhera.<strong>Shri</strong> S. <strong>Jaipal</strong> <strong>Reddy</strong>, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas alsolaunched the new look website of <strong>GAIL</strong> (<strong>India</strong>) Limited. The new website isintended to have improved functionality, user friendly interface and easynavigation.The Hon’ble Minister also reviewed the progress of the <strong>GAIL</strong>’s pipeline andpetrochemical projects during his visit. <strong>GAIL</strong> is presently implementingpipeline projects to lay additional 6,900 km of pipelines and doubling thecapacity of its petrochemical plant at Pata to 900,000 TPA besides otherdiversification initiatives in E & P, City Gas etc. over the next couple of yearsat an estimated investment of Rs. 40,000 crore.Photo Caption
