Further information isstill available from Jan Digby at Reading.The NASES one day course dates have been launched and will cost £120 per session.Providing Advice and Guidance, London (29 April)Developing an On-campus Agreement, Leeds (11 May)Marketing and Generating Extra Vacancies for your Service, Liverpool (21 May)Agency Training Day – tbc<strong>Student</strong> <strong>Employment</strong> Essentials, Liverpool (21 Sept)Working with International <strong>Student</strong>s, (6 FE focussed days dates in May/June tbc)Further details www.nases.org.uk/trainingPMI2 UpdateNASES visits IndiaAGCAS and NASES visited India, as part <strong>of</strong> the PMI2 projects, they organised three separate visits to Delhi, Mumbai andBangalore for a total delegation <strong>of</strong> nine participants, Priya Chauhan, Jobshop Manager at the University <strong>of</strong> Bedfordshirerepresented NASES. A group <strong>of</strong> us were assigned to Bangalore (South India) where we conducted interviews with multi-nationaland Indian organisations, organised an Alumni Focus Group and visited Indian universities. By carrying out these activities we wereable to develop relationships with employers and UK educated Indian Alumni. We were able to gain an understanding <strong>of</strong> the IndianLabour Market which would assist advisers to help UK educated Indian graduates when they return to India. Also, we gained anunders tanding <strong>of</strong> the factors Indian students considered when making university and career choices. The findings from all threedelegations will be put together and a report will be distributed shortly.Information about all <strong>of</strong> the projects is on the NASES website www.nases.org.uk/pmi2Changes to Tier 4: student visasOn 3 March 2010 some changes to Tier 4 came into effect. Most <strong>of</strong> these changes do not affect students who made a Tier 4immigration application in order to study a course at degree level or above, or a foundation degree. However, the changes do applyto those making a Tier 4 immigration application on or after 3 March in order to study a course which is below degree level andwhich is not a foundation degree course. These students are only permitted to work a maximum <strong>of</strong> 10 hours a week during termtimeand full-time during holidays. <strong>Student</strong>s on courses <strong>of</strong> 6 months or less will no longer be able to bring dependents with them tothe UK; this applies to a course at any level and not just below degree level. <strong>Student</strong>s’ dependents will be banned from workingunless they qualify in their own right under Tier 1 (General) as a highly skilled migrant or as a skilled worker under Tier 2 General,Sportsperson or Minister <strong>of</strong> Religion. Additional rest rictions also apply to English language courses.
