The <strong>School</strong> has the following expectations <strong>of</strong> students when travelling to and from school: Students are considerate <strong>of</strong> others travelling in public at all times Students stand up on public transport when necessary to allow members <strong>of</strong> the public tosit down Keep bags away from the doors <strong>of</strong> trains and buses Eating or drinking in school uniform on public transport or in public places is notacceptable unless accompanied by an adult Students should travel directly to and from school and not remain in Westfield orHurstville shops unless accompanied by a parent or guardian or have a noted signed anddated from Mrs Lucas.Consequences <strong>of</strong> Breaches <strong>of</strong> <strong>Code</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Behaviour</strong>When the <strong>Code</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Behaviour</strong> is breached, <strong>Danebank</strong> is committed to:• developing students’ understanding that there are consequences for action• providing the opportunity for students to make restitution• supporting students to make better choices about their behaviour in the future• developing students’ self discipline.The following consequences may result from breaches <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Code</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Behaviour</strong>. Allconsequences are subject to the determination <strong>of</strong> the Principal. <strong>Danebank</strong> does not allowcorporal punishment by any member <strong>of</strong> the <strong>School</strong> community to enforce discipline at the<strong>School</strong>.Expulsion• Possession or use <strong>of</strong> illicit drugs• Possession or use <strong>of</strong> alcohol• Repeated suspension• Thieving at schoolSuspension• Smoking• Truancy from school• Leaving school grounds without permission• Fighting or physical abuse• Forgery• Damage to school or personal property• Verbal abuse towards other students or staff• Serious misbehaviour in public• On-going and persistent bullying• On-going and persistent breaches <strong>of</strong> the Expectations <strong>of</strong> Classroom and <strong>School</strong> behaviourLunchtime Detentions (20 minutes) - Under the class teacher or executive supervision• Not complying with the expectations <strong>of</strong> behaviour for the classroom• Not complying with the expectations <strong>of</strong> behaviour for the <strong>School</strong> and Assemblies and ChapelMaking Amends• Where possible, the nature and content <strong>of</strong> the consequence will focus on the student being ableto make amends for her behaviour (making it right again) without condemnation.• The consequence will focus on assisting the student to make better choices in her futurebehaviour and to develop self discipline.• Therefore the nature <strong>of</strong> the misdemeanour will determine how the detention is served.
