Martens, the architect who designedthe Governor’s executive mansion in Charleston,designed the church using a Romanesque Revivalstyle. The building features locally quarriedsandstone blocks on the outside with a borderof stone relief angels around the entire building.In 2000, the Randolph County Community ArtsCouncil purchased the building, renovating andreopening it in 2001. The original nave has beentransformed into “The Great Hall,” retaining thebeautiful original lighting fixtures and religiousicons.
