WISD partners with itsmember school districts and public schoolacademies in Ann Arbor, Chelsea, Dexter,Lincoln, Manchester, Milan, Saline,Whitmore Lake, Willow Run and Ypsilanti,offering best-practice programs and servicesto assure that each child learns.Our employees serve the community.Dedicated to teaching and learning, WISD’semployees serve:• nearly 48,303 students in 10 communities• more than 8,700 public school employeesin 82 buildings including teachers,principals, administrators, aides,secretaries and bus drivers• more than 75 public school boardmembers• 10 public school districts• 10 public school academies• 28 non-public schoolsWISD is funded through several sources.WISD is able to provide its services througha combination of funding from the State ofMichigan, local allocated and voted millage,and some federal sources.WISD is governed by a school board.WISD is governed by five school boardmembers who each serve six-year terms.Our current school board members are:Gregory A.
