EVANS, Chief Judge, Circuit Court <strong>of</strong> Cook Countyrequesting authorization to renew a grant in <strong>the</strong> amount <strong>of</strong> $117,000.00 from <strong>the</strong> Illinois ViolencePrevention Authority. This grant will provide funding for <strong>the</strong> court’s Family Violence CoordinatingCouncils program. Since <strong>the</strong> program began in 1996, <strong>the</strong> court has established six (6) councils, one ineach <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> five (5) suburban municipal districts, and one (1) countywide. The councils provide localforums to improve <strong>the</strong> institutional and pr<strong>of</strong>essional response to family violence issues. Their activitiescover education, prevention, and coordination <strong>of</strong> intervention and o<strong>the</strong>r services for victims andperpetrators <strong>of</strong> child abuse, domestic violence, and elder abuse.This grant does not require a cash match.505
