JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS FOR JANUARY 23, 200707-R-57APPROVAL RESOLUTIONWHEREAS, the highway improvement known as 104th Avenue at 107th Street and 104th Avenue overCal-Sag Channel, Section: 99-W2516-03-BR, with work at 104th Avenue at 107th Street consisting ofremoval of the existing 6’x6’ concrete box culvert including the headwalls, wingwalls, steel sheet pilingand replacing with a 12’ x 8’ precast concrete box culvert with headwalls and wingwalls, construction ofa gabion retaining wall at the northeast embankment, channel excavation, bituminous pavement surfaceremoval and resurfacing, installation and removal of temporary traffic signal installation of a new trafficsignal and installation of a new traffic signal construction and removal of temporary by-pass pavement,other incidental work to complete the improvement, and also the work at 104th Avenue bridge over Cal-Sag Channel, consisting of the removal and replacement of the abutment backwalls, construction ofbridge approach pavements, removal and replacement of a portion of the existing concrete deck,replacement of the existing neoprene expansion joint with a strip seal joint assembly with elastomericconcrete headers, removal of the existing handrails and replacement with concrete parapet walls andrailings, cleaning and painting of the structure, all other incidental work and miscellaneous appurtenances,has been regularly awarded by the Board of County Commissioners for construction as a CountyHighway improvement; andWHEREAS, the aforesaid improvement has been satisfactorily completed in accordance with provisionsand stipulations of aforesaid contract, now, therefore,BE IT RESOLVED, that the work and construction of aforesaid contract be, and hereby, is approved.January 23, 2007_________________________Commissioner Moreno, seconded by Commissioner Gorman, moved that the Approval Resolution beapproved and adopted. The motion carried unanimously.OFFICE OF THE CHIEF JUDGEGRANT AWARD RENEWALTransmitting a Communication, dated December 21, 2006 fromTIMOTHY C. EVANS, Chief Judge, Circuit Court of Cook Countyrequesting authorization to renew a grant in the amount of $117,000.00 from the Illinois ViolencePrevention Authority. This grant will provide funding for the court’s Family Violence CoordinatingCouncils program. Since the program began in 1996, the court has established six (6) councils, one ineach of the five (5) suburban municipal districts, and one (1) countywide. The councils provide localforums to improve the institutional and professional response to family violence issues. Their activitiescover education, prevention, and coordination of intervention and other services for victims andperpetrators of child abuse, domestic violence, and elder abuse.This grant does not require a cash match.505
