The telecommunications sector has expanded significantly in the Caribbean sinceliberalization began in the late 1990s. As the sector continues to grow, so has the demandfor qualified personnel to manage and direct the growth <strong>of</strong> the industry, the emergingtechnologies and to drive policy.This MSc-TPM Programme specifically seeks to meet the demand for advanced training <strong>of</strong>telecommunications executives and technical specialists in the specialized areas <strong>of</strong> policy,technology and management. It builds on the earlier MRP Programme <strong>of</strong>fered out <strong>of</strong> theSt. Augustine Campus <strong>of</strong> the UWI, but with a new emphasis on telecoms managementand ICT policy.The Master <strong>of</strong> Science in Telecommunications Policy and Technology Management willstrengthen the capacity <strong>of</strong> regional telecommunications and ICT managers, technical andengineering personnel, regulators and policy makers through advanced level academictuition. The programme’s emphasis will be on practical application <strong>of</strong> technology andinformation systems management to the development <strong>of</strong> the sector and the widerCaribbean.Delivery MethodsThe programme will be <strong>of</strong>fered part-time over 24 months (4 semesters).Students are required to attain 36 credits for completion, which can be obtainedthrough the successful completion <strong>of</strong> seven (7) courses and a final ResearchPaper.The programme will be delivered through on-line lectures on two days per weekwith occasional on-line tutorials. Face to face seminars will be sch<strong>edu</strong>led atintervals over the two-year period.5051
