With cars securely tucked into an undergroundgarage, cocktails in the Lido Lounge was followed by aninformal dinner in the privacy of the Terrace Room overlookingthe Pacific.Saturday morning led us further north through SanLuis Obispo and into the hills for a convoluted trip throughthe wine district. Our destination was the WindwardVineyard where owner Marc Goldberg provided us with ahistory of his winery and a barrel tasting followed by lunchunder an arbor. The remainder of the afternoon was leftopen for individual visits to favorite local wineries, visits tohistoric Paso Robles or a return to the Resort to enjoy its LaBonne Vie Spa.The Saturday evening five course wine paired dinnertook place in a fourth floor suite of theResort overlooking the oceanbelow. This was where ChefEvan could display his skillsin an open kitchen and whereeach of the courses he preparedcould be enjoyed withcarefully selected wine choicesat four elegantly set tables for ten.Sunday presented thechoice of returning home or lingeringat the Resort for a HarvestFestival where more than twentylocal wineries presented theirfinest for the enjoyment of all.
