For improving the writing skills of theparticipating children the spot essay competitionwas held. The toppers were suitably awardedwhereas the rest got consolation prizes. Ourbenevolent patron, Mohan Seth of AshirwadBanquet Hall, served one and all present, nutritiousbrunch. As per the recent decision of the executives,A.C. Saraswati, a retired scientist, who has attainedthe age of 80 in this month was specially honouredin traditional Indian way with shawl and garlands.Refreshment was served by Usha Kapoor, GeneralSecretary of the branch on being blessed with theGrandson. Our branch distributed100 plants of tulsi on 28.10.2011. Madan Kashyapwas enrolled as 4 th <strong>Vikas</strong> Ratna of the branch. K.B.Mahajan Editor <strong>Vikas</strong> Sandesh and Convener ofEye Donation explained in detail about thenecessity of eye donation after death. 9 memberswere motivated for this cause. These donors wereawarded a nicely framed eye donation certificategiving therein all the description of eye donation.MAHARASHTRA COASTAL-IFilmcity, Malad East Mumbai : Branchorganized a full day picnic on 07.08.2011 at RoyalGarden resort, Vasai. More than 75 membersparticipated. Members and their families enjoyedvarious water rides in the morning session and inthe afternoon there was variety of entertainmentprogrammes like songs, poems dance, antaxarimagic show and games performed by membersthemselves. The programme was well co-ordinatedby Satyaprakash Gupta. The branch also organisedNGSC and BKJ quiz contest on 28.08.2011 atYasodham High School, Goregaon East. Converneswere Sunit Shah and Pawan Verma. Branch jointlywith J.B. Nagar Branch distributed school dressesto 30 mentally retarded students on 21.09.2011 atSahashi Manglyam School at filmcity road,Goregaon East. Rangbihari Boot sponsored theproject.MAHARASHTRA-IISangli : A meeting of the branch was held on12.11.2011. Chief Guest Mahesh Kulkarni read outthe poems written by him. He has also published abook of his poems. Due to kojagiri poornima themeeting concluded with milk after having dinner.PUNJAB EASTNabha, Patiala : Branch arranged a ShrimadBhagwat Katha by Dr. Yash Paul Goyal in its GeneralMeeting of the house on 08.10.2011. The memberswere also addressed by Prem Goyal Kshetriya SewaPramukh (Uttar <strong>Bharat</strong>) of RSS.Ahmedgarh Mandi : <strong>Jan</strong>am Ashtmi wascelebrated at Sat Narayan Mandir. The membersactively participated at Luxmi Narayan mandir forGanesh Chaturthi for 8 days. 5 days medical campfrom 10.09.2011 was conducted at chapaar fair invillage chapaar with the help of Hind Hospital.Medicines were distributed free of cost andambulance facility was also provided at the fair.Chandigarh South-I : Distributed sweets onthe occasion of the festival of lights (Diwali) to allits members and wished them a happy andprosperous Diwali.Chandigarh West-II : Branch organisedNGSC in the months of September and October. InGVCA 57 teachers and Principals of 4 schools werehonoured.Honoured the topper & second position holderstudents in their respective classes of Govt. PrimarySchool Jagatpura-I & Jagatpura-II, Govt. PrimarySchool Kandala Distt. Sasnagar on 05.11.2011.
