18 19Aqua-Stop dam.Safety in reserve.The Aqua-Stop dam is a temporary dam wall which can be set up quickly in thecase of flooding. It is designed so that it can be installed within a very shorttime in an emergency. Two people can set up 100 meters of dam in 90 minuteswithout the use of a crane. A special logistical advantage is that the damelements can be transported easily and stored in a minimum of space.CMobilesolutionsafeThe Aqua-Stop dam consists of a high-strengthframe, lightweight sheeting and the necessary fasteners.The frame is made from a special plasticwhich makes it particularly light and strong. Analuminum support provides stability and interconnectsthe frames.The Aqua-Stop dam is resistant to impact, UV radiationand saltwater. The individual elements aresupplied in assembly-friendly standard lengths of2.00 meters and heights of up to 1.30 meters. Thestandard heights are 1.00 meter and 0.6 meters.Other heights can be supplied on request.The dam is kept stable and held in place by soilnails. Where present, walls, gutters or other featurescan be used to absorb horizontal forces.To protect buildings, the frames can be placeddirectly against the house wall. The plastic framescan be cut to match the conditions of the terrain.Angles and special shapes can be made by bondingor welding.Watertightness is guaranteed by the sheeting whichcovers the dam. On the water side it is weigheddown by gravel sacks. The rising water presses thesheeting against the ground and makes the damimpermeable.These advantages make the Aqua-Stop dam aneffective alternative to sandbags. It can also beused in combination with sandbags.
