Depending on landscaping goals, thesheet piling can be installed either invisibly or as avisible dike raising solution.The sheet piling cannot be penetrated by animals ortree roots and thus prevents damage to the dike byburrowing animals and vegetation. Oneparticularly reliable sealing system is the patentedHOESCH lip seal made of plastic. This seal isfitted into the interlocks at the factory and is suitablefor all methods of sheet pile installation.If the piling is used for a visible wall, the plastic sealis particularly recommended as it is heat-resistantand does not run out of the interlocks in the heat ofthe sun.Naturally, all the sealing systems we recommendare groundwater-neutral and ecologically safe.Ecological reasons also clearly favor the use ofsheet pile walls. As 100% steel products they areparticularly environment-friendly as they can beremoved without residues and reused. This may bean advantage for example when changes have tobe made to the dike installation.Lightweight steel sectionsAs well as hot-rolled sheet piling,cold-rolled piling sections areincreasingly being used 630 for floodprotection.They are cold-formed from flatmaterial into sheet piling profilesand are mainly used for sealingpurposes.
