Fur<strong>the</strong>r <strong>in</strong>structions to follow.COURSE FINALDesign an environment<strong>for</strong> typical and atypicalchildren enrolled <strong>in</strong> anafter-school and out-<strong>of</strong>schoolprogramStudents will design and/or adapt an after-school and out-<strong>of</strong>-school environment<strong>for</strong> typically and atypically develop<strong>in</strong>g children who are enrolled <strong>in</strong> school dur<strong>in</strong>g<strong>the</strong> day <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> academic year. The plan will reflect a learn<strong>in</strong>g environment basedon best practices <strong>in</strong> school-aged child care programs. Floor plan will be submittedon paper no larger than 8 1/2 X 11" and will <strong>in</strong>clude list<strong>in</strong>gs <strong>of</strong> sample materialsto be <strong>in</strong>cluded <strong>in</strong> each learn<strong>in</strong>g center. Students will cite course content andpersonal experiences to support <strong>the</strong>ir work.NOTE: This syllabus may be modified dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> semester to accommodate <strong>the</strong> learn<strong>in</strong>g process.
