<strong>Redlands</strong> Basketball 20<strong>08</strong>-20<strong>09</strong>Dr. Larry F. Devane, President<strong>Redlands</strong> President Dr. Larry F. Devane has created a vision for <strong>Redlands</strong> thatincludes state of the art technology, varied course and program deliverymodes, student focused facilities, numerous public and private educationpartnerships, and a high standard for competitive athletics.Devane was selected by the American Association of <strong>Community</strong> Colleges tothe International Education Commission. The Commission will be focused onanalysis of student access to U.S. <strong>Community</strong> Colleges and the role of theAACC in partnering with learning access at the associate level in countriesdeveloping community colleges.Devane continues to serve on the AACC National Homeland Security Task Force and the task forcesteering committee. Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the international two-year college academic honorsociety, has recognized Devane for his multiple years of service to PTK’s Oklahoma/Arkansas regionas a Distinguished Presidential Ambassador. Further, PTK has awarded Devane the Shirley B. GordonAward of Distinction.Devane’s state and community leadership roles are varied, including serving on the Board of Directorsof the El Reno Chamber of Commerce Foundation for Progress, El Reno Federal Corrections Institute<strong>Community</strong> Advisory Council, Canadian Valley Integris Hospital Board of Directors, Vice President of theCanadian County Greater Oklahoma City Metro United Way, and Coordinator of Leadership CanadianCounty, as well as past President of the Oklahoma Two-Year Colleges Presidents Association. Devanehas served as President of RCC since 1990 and was honored in 2001 by the <strong>Redlands</strong> Board of Regentswith the naming of a campus building, the “Larry F. He has helped the Lady Cougars for sevenyears as he has also coached his own teams. He has coached twoState Championship Teams in his tenure as well as been named AllState Coach of the ear where he coached Sooner standout Taylorrifn and Conference Coach of the ear si times. He was namedAllRegion Coach of the ear in and is currently Head Coach atdmond orth High School and Region Representative for lahomaCity ig Schools. He is married to Head Coach Laci Tompins inwhich he has two children Lei and Tiger .
