POSITION SPECIFICATION POSITION TITLE: TECHNICAL REPRESENTATIVE REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR TECHNICAL SUPPORT <strong>www</strong>.<strong><strong>Hartzell</strong><strong>Engine</strong>Tech</strong>.<strong>com</strong> LOCATION: MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA <strong>Hartzell</strong> <strong>Engine</strong> <strong>Technologies</strong> <strong>Hartzell</strong> <strong>Engine</strong> <strong>Technologies</strong> manufactures OEM new & refurbished parts for piston engine aircraft, helicopters, military applications and light Jets. Our pursuit of excellence drives our business through the initial design to the building and testing of each unit. Key Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this position are wide and varied; including: providing “help desk” support via phone, fax and e-­mail to users and servicers of HET’s products; conducting training classes and seminars on operating, servicing, and maintaining <strong>Hartzell</strong> products; tracking field problems and working with the Product <strong>Engine</strong>ering Group to develop solutions; reviewing service literature; providing on-­‐site support for operators; attending trade shows and visiting operators and aviation facilities to answer technical questions; and adjudicating warranty claims. Key Deliverables: • Provide help desk support for customers / maintainers of our products. • Provide warranty processing support, analysis and reporting. • Assist with development of maintenance manuals and service literature. • Provide feedback to engineering regarding product improvement opportunities. • Attend IA seminars and trade shows to provide technical support and training in our products. • Develop maintenance training programs/presentations for our products. First Year Success Factors • Develop a working relationship with distribution and OE customer base. • Develop an understanding and working knowledge of the warranty database. • Develop a working understanding of each of our products: ° Through reading and understanding the maintenance manuals; ° Performing warranty tear downs, processing and investigations; ° As they relate to specific airframe / engine types; ° Learning troubleshooting procedures for their systems. Required Education/Experience: Bachelor of Science preferred or equivalent experience; A&P license required, I.A. preferred. Required Technical Competencies 1) Strong mechanical aptitude with an understanding of general aviation systems 2) Strong troubleshooting skills 3) In-­‐depth understanding of blue print reading and drawings 4) Ability to visualize from sketches, photos and verbal descriptions
