The Synergos Institute is an independentnonprofit organization dedicated to thedevelopment of effective, sustainable andlocally based solutions to poverty. Working withpartners, Synergos’ mission is to mobilize resourcesand bridge social and economic divides to reducepoverty and increase equity around the world.We believe that poverty is the result of acomplex array of causes and conditions andcannot be remedied without the commitment ofall key sectors of society – government, business,nonprofit organizations, and other majorstakeholders.Our staff of 40 is headquartered in New York andonsite on the US-Mexico border, in Brazil, SouthAfrica and India.Our programs:• Build and strengthen community developmentfoundations and other bridging organizations inAfrica, Asia and Latin America, fostering a localculture of philanthropy• Bring leading philanthropic families together todeepen the impact of their social investments• Catalyze partnerships between government,business and civil society in order to createand implement joint solutions to complexdevelopment challenges.
