August 12 -18, 2012NO HOLDS BARREDBy M. A. SADANANDThe Delhi layabouts, who have nothing else to do but want topose to the world that, but for them, Indian democracy would havebecome the twin brother of Idi Aminism, are, for the nonce, afflicted with adenoids caused by non-stop garrulity a la the nextPresidential tenant of theRaisina Hill Palace.Several ugly faces are on display on TV screens as the pawns,to use friend World Champion V.Anand’s gold-mine expression, none of whom deserves the crown. The only one who deserves it isa guy called M. A. Sadanand, and the beggers who have beenburning fuel chasing the reluctant candidates have forgotten theonly address or telephone number of the Best of the Lot who wouldgive a glimpse of the promised land to the billion plus of thisbeautiful land, which would replicate the glorious days of KingMahabali who ruled what was then called Kerala. This guy M. Bali, later cheated by the crooks and banished to solitary confinementby the political grabbers, is released only on Onam Day to visit hishome State. He never fails to call me on his Nokia to bewail all thathe sees on his TV in Hades. We had been in touch but I have losthis cell phone number as otherwise I could have rung up the guyto find out the heavenly dispensation regarding the proposedtenant of Raisina Hill.Kalam had an innings there and he should now go about clearingup the cobwebs in people’s minds about the imagined dangers ofKoodankulam and try to build more of such power plants. RaisinaHill is for fat people who want to draw a fat salary and, likePrathbha Patil, to see the world. Never in the history of thisbeautiful nation of ‘Sathyameva Jayathe’ has a single personsaved 30 condemned killers from the gallows. Her hands are notbloodied so far and, before she quits in July, I hope she lets all theothers in the death rows live. Whatever her advisers recommend, her right is constitutionally untrammeled and beyond judicialreview.Whoever comes in her place, I hope, will be an abolitionist. Ifthere is no such strong-willed and humane chap to sit in RaisinaHill, seek no further, because I, who was a Government Pleaderof the Madras High Court and who abhors the death sentence asan insult to humanity and all that is beautiful in this world, herebynominate myself for the job.ISKCON programs inneighbourhoodBy Our Staff ReporterInternational Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) conductsprograms in the following venues:Residence of Priya (1075, Munuswamy Naidu Salai, K.
