In respect of asingle phase connection, theproposed rate is Rs. 900against the existing rate of Rs.250.To cite another example, forchanging a meter on theconsumer’s request withoutany dispute over the functioningof the instrument, the existingcharges for all types oflow tension consumers (singlephase or three phase) are Rs.50. This will go up to Rs. 250 inthe event of approval of theTANGEDCO’s proposal. For athree-phase domestic consumer,the proposed rates willbe Rs. 500 (for CL up to 18.6KW) and Rs. 1,600 (for CLbetween 18.6 KW and 50 KW).What will be of more relevanceto power consumers isthe introduction of levies forthose services, for which thereare no charges now.At present, for replacementof meters damaged or burnt byacts of consumers, no servicecharges are levied.
