16’s DEVELOPMENT
Swan Districts 16’s Development Side entered the carnival with
a young and energetic combination and came out the other
side mature, committed and much improved in all area’s. Swans
played matches against East Perth, Claremont, West Perth, South
Fremantle and Perth.
Finishing with a 3 win, 2 loss record was very satisfying for all
concerned but more importantly the development and in a
number of cases the dominates shown by the players and the
group was very exciting.
The carnival provided Josh Dann, Jaycob Conigilio, Herman
Humphries, Laurence Grescos, Richard Abraham and Sam
Garstone the opportunity to be selected and play state football
for Western Australia. This is an outstanding achievement to have
6 State players selected, congratulations to the player’s, their
families, coaches and Football Clubs that have worked with and
supported these boys so far in their careers.
Further more to the state selections Herman, Laurence and Sam
have been selected and taken up their opportunity to be at the
AIS Academy.

From the program, following on from pre-season where some
of the highly talented 16’s trained with the colts, the well
performed players were then invited back to do more training
and preparation with the colt’s side. Again to the boys talent and
opportunity a number of them were selected to play colts level
football and acquitted themselves very well.
Some notable players to do this were Josh Dann, Jaycob Conigilio,
Jack and Mitchell Harrold, Ben Whitsed, Herman Humphries,
Mitchell Gill, James Austgen, Laurence Grescos, Sean Olliver,
Richard Abraham, these players and others will make for a very
good nuclease for the future years at the Swans.
There needs to be a very big thank you to all the coaches and
support staff and manager involved with the 16’s this season, also
the parents need to be thanked for their support and dedication.
The Swan Districts Football would also like to thank and
congratulate all those involved, and cannot wait to see this group
of 16’s come through and wear the mighty black and white.
