PRESS SHEET SONOR
SONOR tells us about the encounter of an film musician and a former ballet dancer, who is deaf by birth. Two people
with an apparently conflictive acoustic perception enter the realm of a sound journey. They explore acoustic spaces,
experiment with various instruments and seek for sounds. Their experiences are interpreted in a musical
improvisation. SONOR is inviting the audience to undergo a chance in its own perception of tone and sound.

Levin Peter was born on 31.08.1985 in Jena, Germany. His first film projects he realized during school time. As part of his A-Level he made a
documentary about the national uprising of 17th June 1953 in the GDR. After that, he started to work in different postproduction companies. In
August 2006 he visited the occupied tower block „Prestes Maia“ in Sao Paulo. That experience inspired him to shoot a documentary about the
biggest occupied tower block in whole Latin America, together with Jonas Ginter. This project was realised in co-production with ZDF/ARTE in
2008. In september 2008 he started to study at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, specialized on documentaries.

Elsa Kremser was born on 10th of August 1985 in Carinthia in Austria. After her A-Level she was studying film science at the University of Vienna
were she did her Master 2008. At the same time she did courses at the Filmakademie in Vienna and was working as a Freelancer in Film and TV-
Productions. Now she is studying international producing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, focusing on documentaries.

YUNUS ROY IMER | DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPY | SCRIPT
Yunus Roy Imer was born 1987 in Zürich and finished his A-level 2006 at Kantonsschule in Zurich,
Switzerland. After that he made internships in the commercial department of Condorfilm Zurich and
Weissfilm in Zug, where he worked as DOP and 1st Camera Assistant for Swiss Television. At the same
time he finished Propädeutikum at the University of Arts in Zurich, where he worked in Photography and
Film. Since 2008 he is studying cinematography at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Germany.

STEPHAN BECHINGER | EDITING
Stephan Bechinger was born 1983 in Hof / Germany. After his A-level 2002 he was studying at the
University of Würzburg and Leipzig, Indology, Social Science, Political Science, Ethnology and Central Asian
Science. After a semester abroad in India and Japan he went to European Film College in Denmark. One
year he worked as a freelancer editor. 2008 he started his studies in editing at the Filmakademie Baden-
Württemberg. Actually he is doing an exchange year at the Filmschool in Jerusalem, Israel.
