To maintain a clean solvantsupply, always pour the solvent on the washing cloth.

3/4 PR 1440 BIssued : 04 / 2001MIXING INSTRUCTIONSProper mixing and correct proportions are extremelyimportant if optimum results are to be obtained.Mixing by experienced personnel at a central locationis recommended.CAUTION: Do not mix accelerator with compounduntil ready to use.1° Thoroughly stir accelerator in its container until aneven consistancy is obtained.2° Thoroughly stir base compound in its container untilan even consistancy is obtained.3° Slowly stir the accelerator into the base compoundand thoroughly mix approximately 7 to 10 minutes. Besure to scrape the sides and bottom of the container inorder to include all the compound in the mixture andto assure uniform blending. Scrape mixing paddleperiodically to remove unmixed compound. Slowmixing by hand is recommanded.FRACTIONAL USE OF UNIT :When it is desired to use only part of the kit, afterhomogenization, remove the required quantity.(§ APPLICATION PROPERTIES).SEMKIT TWO-PART SEALANT CARTRIDGES1° Wear safety glasses.2° Hold cartridge and pull back dasher rod one fourth.3° Pull back the dasher rod as injecting asproportionnaly as possible the contents acceleratorinto the base.4° Mix material, rotate dasher rod 90° in aspiralclockwise motion; with each stroke turn the dasherrod 90°.5° When two-parts are mixed thoroughly, pull dasherrod back to the neck of cartridge, grasp cartridgefirmly at neck, unscrew dasher rod counterclockwiseand remove.6° Screw nozzle into cartridge, material is ready forextrusion. For all informations, consult the TechnicalServices ofLE JOINT FRANCAIS.APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONSApplication life is the period of time that the mixed compoundremains at a consistency suitable for application withinjection or extrusion guns. Application life is always basedon standard conditions at 23° C and 50 % relative humidity. For evry 5°C rise in temperature, application life is reducedapproximatetly by half, and for evry 5°C it is approximatlydoubled. High humidity at the time of mixing shortensapplication life.Apply the sealant with an extrusion gun equipped with 3 to6 mm tip. Hold gun nearly perpendicular so that extrudedsealant will be forced into the lip of seam.On most application, the fillet should be 3 to 5 mm thick, butheavier fillets can be applied in a single operation, ifnecessary.CURINGThe lenght of the cure depends on the ambienttemperatureand relative humidity. The temperature/timerelation ship is approximately the same for curing as it is forapplication life . Low humidities may extend the cureseveral times. Cure may hastened by applying heat up to55° C.Although PR 1440B develops a high state of cure in 14days at 25°C.CLEANING EQUIPEMENTEquipment should be cleaned immediately after use withmethylethylketone. Cured material may be removed withcommercial product.STORAGE LIFEThe storage life of PR 1440 B is 6 months when storedin the original, unopened containers at temperature below25°C.

4/4 PR 1440 BHEALTH PRECAUTIONSPR 1440 B is a safe material to handle when reasonable care is observed. Ordinary hygienic principles, such aswashing the compound from hands before eating or smoking, should be observed.
