If a pack goes onan overnight camping trip, the Guide to Safe Scoutingdictates that they must have a BALOO trained leaderin attendance.While OWL is not a required training, it is a trainingthat can truly give you a better program at the packlevel. Take advantage of the day and take both of thesetrainings to give your boys an adventure that they willremember! Registration will be online soon atwww.eagletraildistrict.org!Webelos Outdoor Weekend – September 20th, 2013Come and spend the weekend with more than 400other Scouts and Scouter’s from all over CollinCounty, who are part of The Eagle Trail District. The2013 Webelos Woods adventure will begin at 5:00PM, Friday, Sept. 20th at Camp James Ray ScoutReservation. We will have tons of fun; experiencingthe joys of camping, cooking, campfire, religiousservices, camp-wide activities, rockets, hikes andexploration of the great outdoors!Registration will be online soon atwww.circle10.camp-master.com!Leader Specific Training – September 28th, 2013“Every boy deserves a trained leader!” This mantra isheard throughout Scouting, and for good reason. TheScouting program is a fantastic movement that hasthe potential to give boys an experience of a lifetime.

Registration will beonline soon at www.eagletraildistrict.org!Tiger Lock-In – October 11th, 2013Welcome to Scouting. Here is a chance for you to joinin the fun for a sleep over with your parents. Don’tworry if you don’t have a tent. You only need your airmattress or sleeping bag since we are sleeping in-doors.volunteer to do. The activities include archery and aBB gun range and CUBE is one of the few Scout eventswhere the boys can do these range activities. We alsohave the Order of The Arrow (The Boy Scout honorsociety) providing concessions, chips and drinks as oneof their service projects and fundraisers is CUBE.When is CUBE? The event runs morning andafternoon on Saturday, October 26 from 10:00 until2:00. You are welcome to come and participatewhenever you would like. The lines for BB’s andarchery can get long at times, so plan accordingly(early arrival generally means shorter lines…)We will have activities, crafts, shows, food and lots ofFUN!Sign up here: circle10.camp-master.com/events/ET_TigerLockIn_2013Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills – October25th, 2013This course is a weekend training course that is meantto prepare any Boy Scout, Varsity Scout or VentureScout Leader to create, manage or support a fun andexciting outdoor program while providing a safeatmosphere. This training is taught by an elite groupof trainers who are passionate about the program,camping, and everything that Scouting has to offer.This course is considered one of the few that is required*for a leader to be considered officially trainedby BSA standards. Come join the fun!Registration will be open in September on the EagleTrail website: www.eagletraildistrict.org.Cub Event (CUBE) – October 26th, 2013What is CUBE? CUBE (the Cub Experience) is a day ofactivities for Cub Scouts and their siblings and family.These activities are hosted by the Cub Scout packsin Eagle Trail District and run the gamut from knottying and tug of war to building a mini catapult. Theactivities change each year based on what the packsRegistration? Scouts and their siblings will need toregister online. (Link to the registration will be on theEagle Trail website). Siblings are welcome to attendand will take part in all of the crafts and activities(excluding BB’s and archery).Cost? The fees for the event are early bird $10 for eachScout, $5 for each sibling and $15 the day of the event.CUBE is a volunteer run event, and we request thateach Cub Scout pack help us to create or run activitiesfor the boys to do during the day. Let me repeat – thisevent is only as fun as all the packs help to make it.
